Re: Offaly vs Cork - SHC Qualifier Rnd 2 07/07/2012

Was just listening on the radio but sounded like the usual story, good effort, but come up short again. County Board again let the hurlers down by not finding a way of securing at least alternate home games v opposition in the qualifiers. Whatever happened to the designate "weaker" teams g...

Re: Offaly Vs Wexford 2/6/12 Leinster Championship

Nice 1, made heavy weather of it though. Poor ref. Shane Dooley looked to be carrying an injury and a bit of loss of form because of that.

Is the next game v Galway (they will beat Westmeath) in Salthill?

Re: Brian Cowen's legacy of failure as Taoiseach

I'll be voting for Michael D Higgins tomorrow myself. I'm not going to tell people who to vote for, but I urge voters of all hues to steer away from Cowens bagman - the z-list celebrity FFer Sean Gallagher. The Presidency is not a pivotal role in the large scheme of things, however it would be a bac...

Re: Brian Cowen's legacy of failure as Taoiseach

I was thinking of this thread today when these 2 stories appeared in the media by coincidence. http://www.rte.ie/news/2011/0921/casino.html I'm no fan of Fine Gael's Alan Shatter but I'm delighted this scam that the gombeen Lowry was involved with didn't get off the ground. The rednecks who voted fo...

Re: Offaly V Monaghan, SFC qualifier, 25/6/2011

What a result. Well done Offaly and congrats to Cribben for rallying the team. The amount of stick that Offaly footballers have taken recently - some of it deserved, but some of it unwarranted - has been unreal. Fair play to them they responded to it the best way possible with a great win. Onwards a...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board

Where do I harp back to past glories?? Where are we reluctant to move with the times?? We are looking at this from a purely practical point of view where is the best place for Offaly to play in 2011 and beyond, and that is undoubtedly Birr. I think there is no one under any illusions as to the stat...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board

You are making the assumption that Birr is not able to accomadate big championship matches. The reality is that Offaly havent been in a big championship match since they last graced a leinster final in 2004 and obviously that was staged in Croke Park. The biggest championship matches in Tullamore s...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board

All this stuff about playing in Birr should've been ironed out years ago. Certainly some games, maybe league games especially in Div 2, could be in Birr. But I don't see the long term advantage of Offaly playing home games at a ground that won't be able to accommodate big championship matches. And o...

Re: Duignan's outburst

http://www.rte.ie/sport/ Here's the follow up interview from Michael Duignan. I think he does have a point even though it came out originally as an aside when discussing the hurlers issues. I've been watching Offaly footballers over recent years and they never appear to be as fit as most of the team...

Lowry is 1 over after the first round in the US Open. Puts him in with a good chance of making the cut by the looks of it.

RTE site is the best option for a quality picture. Didn't want to post in thread in case the board Admin disapproves.
Can you pm that to me too? I've got relations abroad that might be interested

You can get a proxy sever thing that enables you to appear as Irish on the net. This one here; http://www.irishproxyserver.com/ costs £6.25 a month. I think there are free ones though, check it out and get back to us if you find anything that works. There's also websites like firstrow.net or p2p4u t...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board

http://www.rte.ie/sport/gaa/championship/mediaplayer.html?features,2977971,2977971,flash,257 Very cutting remark from Michael Duignan about the county footballers "going on the beer" and generally slacking off in the middle of that interview. Are the footballers being given preferential tr...
