Re: Roscomon V Offaly

Great report by BnaM and Lone Shark honesty reflecting what went on before our eyes. I felt so sad leaving the ground i could hardly breathe. To see a proud county like Offaly with a huge well of talent that have competed so admirably in minor and U21 in recent years under Tom Coffey, Phil O'Reilly...

Re: Roscomon V Offaly

No question whatsoever but that Offaly has enough players to make us more than competitive, and thats all all we ask for. But come on, picking the team like that and giving 3 young guys starting positions and they barely over 18 is an insult to us and the rest of the more senior players which are av...

Re: Offaly Minor Management A Complete Joke

..........i mention the issue of finance because i have dealt at board level with offaly officials........and i do not wish to sound nasty, but one cannot hide the truth.... i and most other outsiders would be firmly of the view that offaly do things on the cheap...manager appointments, coaching ac...

Re: Players opting out

Its not the players that is the bulk of the problem -its the management more so. Management get the most out of players or at least thats their job, JD is struggling big time to gain the respect of his team and thats more than worrying. Its a very thin line and he is currently ont he worng side of i...

Re: U21's at the weekend

!! A few bad performances from some of our key players?? Any comments??
Thats the key here- assuming we are thinking of the same ones - i cant for the life of me figure out how they are considered key players as they never seem to perform when required.

Re: Reprieve for St. Mary's - EDIT - All Referees now on strike

The problem is when all those errors favour the one team, as it appears happened in this match. Still, it can happen. Usually over the course of a game they balance out, but on this occasion they didn't . It happens, but hyping it up into some deliberate act does not help. So if you were managing a...

Re: Reprieve for St. Mary's - EDIT - All Referees now on strike

Ask any referees assessor and the ref who they determine only makes four or five errors per game is a good ref. The problem is when all those errors favour the one team, as it appears happened in this match. Still, it can happen. Usually over the course of a game they balance out, but on this occas...

Re: Reprieve for St. Mary's - EDIT - All Referees now on strike

The ref brought most of this down upon himself. He should never be struck or never assualted in any way - I agree with all there. But what I dont understand is how no one here has not questioned his actions which are at the heart of this mess The Ref made a bags of the match (at the end) and lets bl...

Re: Reprieve for St. Mary's - EDIT - All Referees now on strike

Interesting reading indeed. I am now going to throw a spanner into the works. There is of course another side to this story as there is to nearly every story. Let me state clearly that striking the ref is not allowed and should not be tolerated and punishment should be handed out. Having said that c...

Re: Offaly v Carlow

I was just happy to see that the loss in the qualifiers a few years back left no mental scars, especially as we were back in their own back yard again.

Re: Managers

We're not comparing "apples with apples" as both Kelly & Fahy only had one year in the job unlike KK who at least had the two years. If you compare Kilmurrays first season it is on a par (at best) or worse than his predecessors and that is the only direct comparison that can be made. ...

Re: Managers

Well thats that sorted and out of the way. KK winner alrite - winner alrite. We Might not all agree but winning Championship games is key and always will be- no matter if lucky or not or against poor opposition. Its a real measure of ones success. If you make progress etc in other areas and bring a te...

Re: Managers

Jesus lads I find it a bit amusing to see everyone going out of their way to put down the achivement of Kilmurray in '06 and coming up with all sorts of excuses for doing so. 2006 - Beat Westmeath, Kildare, Wexford and lost to Dublin in a Leinster final having Alan Mcnamee dismissed early on in the...
