Re: B championship

I always thought that the Cats had it nailed down to a tee in terms of championship and league structures. In senior hurling the league dictates where you start your championship campaign. The top 2 teams in the league get a bye to the quarter final I think. The bottom four teams of the league start...

Re: Advancement from Group Stages Football

I think the new structure has freshened up the championship considerably. Having the 4 best senior teams in the county made for exciting group games. Also all the group games have significance. in the past the last couple of group games were usually meaningless as the teams had already qualified. Wh...

Re: Club location

The real 'hurling people' don't need any of your new fangled GPS and apps to find hurling pitches.

Although the real 'hurling people' tend to get disorientated once they hit the tullamore by pass

Re: Advancement from Group Stages Football

Does anyone know or where one can find details of above for current championships? http://offaly.gaa.ie/fixtures-results/ The Offaly GAA website has all the results, fixture and tables. I must say an excellent job it is too. Promptly updated every evening with the results of matches. Whoever is ove...

Re: Man in Offaly jersey

Great article about Mick. Great to see him get the recognition he deserves. Especially in these poor years for both the hurlers and footballs Mick's loyalty is still as strong to the faithful cause Anyone know about crowd funding? Wouldn't it be a great way to try and finance his trip to New York ht...

Re: Laois v Offaly – Leinster Hurling Quarter Final 7th Ju

Hit the nail on the head in order to be successful you need your big towns chipping in both hurling and football Aye, but the problem with towns is that they are full of townies. Trying to convert the sort of scaldy yokes you'd see in Tellamore into hurlers would require a magician! Townies - are y...

Re: Division 4 league final Offaly v Longford

For old time sake, I'll be going on a pub crawl along Dorset Street and will arrive into Croke Park steaming, sunburned and roaring for more drink! Fond memories of the 80's and 90's. The last time I went up to the big smoke for a match I sucked on a tit, pissed and scoured myself and puked over a ...

Re: St. Vincent's Senior Team

Why always does Parish debate centre around Daingean and St Vincents? Lets remember Daingean and Cappincur were Senior teams in the 90s and Daingean senior in the 00s. A slump in their fortunes does not mean they need to amalgamate in order to improve the situation. If the individual teams are poor ...

Re: Championship Draws

Good question theoutsider

Also what is the new structure for Senior, Senior B and Intermiediate football? I think there are just 8 teams left in each grade? Will they all play each other once or is it 2 groups of 4?

Connollys father is from Clara in KK

Imagine if he had stayed in KK what damage Diarmuid would do with a hurl - could be alot of GBH cases

Re: Kilcormac-Killoughey in Leinster - 2014

Did anyone notice the KK supporter heckling the Shelmalire free taker at the end. He was out in the steps down near the pitch. It was hilarious stuff. Some of the Shelmalire subs and mentors were threatening him with hurls. Thought they were going to lace him with hurls. Also the miss at the end was...

Re: UíbhFháilí.com's 10th anniversary

By the way I hear that the 10 year wrap party is to be held in the Pull Inn.

Highlights of the night will be a John Hogan concert, An ode to Ground Hurling and a viewing of a new Michael Moore documentary about the water metering and water charges simply titled 'Unshowered and shitting in a bucket'.
