Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023

So you wouldn’t trust a journalist who’s from Tullamore who’s close to several players and management. Would you rather it came from Martin Breheny or Colm Keyes who probably couldn’t name one offaly player without looking it up?

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022

In Kielys case he has a young family and was in the process of building/buying a house. Inter County GAA is a second full time job for very little reward these days. Especially in smaller counties like Offaly where the prospects for success are small and people constantly sniping at you or harping b...

Re: National Foothall league Div 2 predictions

I think the ideal result for Offaly would be a Cork win today. From memory Meaths last 2 games are Clare and Derry, you’d fancy them 2 to beat Meath and we could stay up on 3 points in theory. But the league does throw up funny results. I think Down are gone, yesterday had to be a gut wrenching blow...

Re: Glenisk to replace Carrolls as Offaly sponsor

with absolutely no connection or affiliation to either company, I find it very very strange Carrolls is being replaced (unless it is their own decision of course) by Glenisk...how a company like Glenisk just climbing back onto their feet after the fire and now sponsoring Offaly is a strange one to ...

Re: Minor Hurlers 2018

If I read correctly on the Leinster website, If they beat Antrim at the weekend they will have a home quarter final against the bottom team of the strong group. Which will presumably be Laois. Great chance to get to a semi final. Would be great for the county to even get to a Leinster final. Haven’t...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers Championship Thread

Unfortunately the champions league final is going to hit the attendance for both sides. I went to the Galway’s game with 4 lads and none of us are going Saturday night as we want to watch the champions league. Sure the gaa could have moved it to 5 and played the Laois v Westmeath game as a double he...

Re: Development Squads Deserve Respect and a Profile

Offaly drew with Monaghan in the group and went on to beat Roscommon and Louth. Head to head was to be used first if teams were tied, then it went to scores conceded. I think there was 2 groups decided like this. Not sure why. They then went onto best Kildare in the semi finals before losing to Kerr...

Re: Hurling development squads [Split from Walsh Cup]

The days of Offaly, or other small counties, competing for minor or under 21 honours are probable gone. The advancement of team preparation, budgets, S&C and the rest increases the odds of a small county getting enough good players to beat,or compete with the bigger counties is now more or less ...

So were Clare and Dublin

Re: B championship

I think a B championship is a good idea and can help improve the standard of the championship in the long run. Look at football. All the teams in Senior B and Intermediate have realistic ambitions to win a championship at the start of the year. Can that be said of the hurling championship? If you lo...
