Re: Meath v Offaly 12th May 2019 @3pm Navan
I'm sure that many will analyze this game for negatives as well as positives and that is fair game, but i prefer to focus on the positives despite the defeat, that boys showed all of the DNA of what i believe Offaly Football is all about, heart, pride, guts, determination and most important of all, ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers Championship Thread
Don't know about all the praise for the mgt. Are they there long enough to have such an impact. Also lost to Clare who are hardly a football county. Like Clare lost by 22 points to Kerry. So , yeah let mgt stay on but the jury is still out on this group of players. Bigger picture stuff, time to hav...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers Championship Thread
Well done to the lads today, result didn't go their way but they played to their maximum potential and couldn't have given any more, they emptied the tank and that's all i can ask for Hope Paul Rouse stays on, he's done a good job in giving the team belief and raising the standard which is badly nee...

Re: Daithi and the heartland
My mom has a saying which goes a bad tradesmen always blames his tools, and this has been the problem with Offaly Hurling for a long time, as long as people blame O'Connor park for all of the counties hurling ails, we will never improve as a county, no one doubts or should doubt the history and trad...

Re: New Managers for 2018
"Dear Lord if you keep Pascal from becoming Offaly manager we will build several churches in your honor." If it's Pascal we'll become so defensive it'll be completely unwatchable. I thought Rhode had a great chance against Vincents in last Decembers Leinster final yet they were sent out w...

Re: Offaly GAA - in Crisis?
Well that didn't take long did it, just after checking out the video of the Faithful fields and i must say i'm very impressed, i'm a man of my word so to all involved including the county board well done on an excellent job, now can we please see the same kind of vision repeated at underage level pl...

Re: Offaly GAA - in Crisis?
If the modern game means employing two or more sweepers and simultaneously killing off forwards' chances of scoring, then hurling is on its last legs, as the game will become almost unwatchable. Yep it's a shame that we've let yet another manager go, but honestly in this case I think it would have ...

Re: Offaly GAA - in Crisis?
For me the simple fact is until the county board (and the players judging by Sean Ryan's comments) Change their outlook on modern hurling, we will continue to struggle in the modern game, they can either carry on regardless though even the carry on crew are starting to look more competent right now,...

Re: County Management Stability
Delighted for tommy Byrne and co.....This is only one of the many reasons we will never improve when you have idiots like this running the show. Is Paul flynn still a hurling coach with offaly hurlers ?hahahaha frauds This annoys the ever living piss out of me, Flanagan had some excellent ideas for...

Be Disappointed but show the players respect
I know that people will be disappointed with the way that things turned out on Sunday, but i don't think it helps the players if people behind an anonymous online name starts hurling abuse their way after yesterdays performance It didn't go the way the players or the fans wanted but i think its fair...

Re: Hurling development squads [Split from Walsh Cup]
Just to clarify I'm not trying to be an asshole about this, i know that these guys give up their time to do a job that no one else seems to do even though the very same (including myself) do nothing abut complain about the current regime and all credit must go to them for that This isn't a personal ...

Re: Hurling development squads [Split from Walsh Cup]
So i know we don't do this a lot on this forum but because we are talking about some decisions that have been made by the county board over the past few months, with some of the statements and/or lack of communications coming out of the county i cant help thinking of a certain scene from a movie tha...

Re: Hurling development squads [Split from Walsh Cup]
Sounds like an absolute shambles. Speaking of minor teams how are our lads set for Saturday? I didn't realise they were playing Championship this soon until I picked up the Tribune today. Has the development squad issues impacted on there preparations? The definition of madness? Wash, Rinse, Repeat.
