Re: Offaly Senior Football Club Championship 2011
Sorry lads i know this is off topic but i was checking out the results section of the Offaly Website and i noticed their were a few 0-0 scores in the minor and u-16 sections from last weekend. Just wondering what the story is, were they walk overs? were they abandoned after an amount of time played...

Re: new football manager
Unless their is self motivation there to make something happen we will never get anywhere, not to shove it down peoples throat or anything i'm sure you're all sick of me saying this by now but O' Brian is the perfect man to get the ball rolling in terms of instilling motivation and determination in...

Re: new football manager
The first thing is of course to establish if Tom Cribbin wants to stay on, and if he does, establish what he plans to do to ensure that 2012 is more successful than the two seasons that have preceded it. I agree with the assessment that we haven't regressed in the past couple of years, but we haven...

Re: new football manager
I take your point JB but i think if the board should be looking for someone a little bit different than the blueprint they have being working off over the past few years. I hate to sound like one of those oul lads saying back in my day but there is a point to this. Back in the day when Eugene Magee ...

Re: new football manager
Developing underage is the long term answer. As a man once said, failure to prepare , prepare to fail, and I believe we need to plan NOW and prepare an underage strategy that will deliver players to make our county successful again. However success is wanted asap - and theres the catch for any pros...

new football manager
I know its way too early to be talking about this since we've just been knocked out of the championship and i'm not trying to pre-empt the departure of Tom Cribben (he has not officially left yet but it does look likley) but i was wondering who would be you're first choice to take the hotseat next y...

Re: Ferbane/Bemont Underage
DAMM! still if their beating three cork teams it can't be all bad and i'm of the belief that if they enjoyed the experience it will be worth it if they develop from this and go onto play for thier respective teams. By the way LS any way you can convince those two lads you were talking about to get i...

Re: Offaly V Monaghan, SFC qualifier, 25/6/2011
Don't think you can really defend Deehan since he was brought on in the 1st half and was totally non-existent for the rest of the game. I suppose you wanted lads who were playing well before the Wexford game to be dropped in favour of Reynolds/Deehan for no apparent reason. They were both brought o...

Re: Duignan's outburst
I don't live in Tullamore anymore so i can't comment on who or where the players are seen after match's but i you go by the way they have performed over the past ten years it's not hard to believe that this could be the reason for the atrocious performances, for me the performance against down two y...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board
I know that board bashing is an easy thing to do and i don't want to fall into the trap of blaming the board for everything but it does seem to me that for the past ten or fifteen years the board have had a "cross that bridge when we come to it" attitude to a lot of issues form underage st...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board
I'm not getting into the argument of Hurlers vs Footballers and Tullamore vs Birr but to my mind the only way this problem will go away is if the county board finally decide to buy a site and develop a training ground specifically for Offaly GAA teams to train on. This has been happening for at leas...
