Re: Now is your chance
Could of sworn there was a notice in the tullamore tribune two weeks ago with a quote from Padraig Boland saying the fans would be get to voice their opinion on bringing the county forward, my bad, oh well should have known there was nothing in the works, big surprise there, by the way i agree with ...

Now is your chance
I read a notice in the tullamore tribune about two weeks ago that the open night tomorrow night at O' Connor park will also be a chance for supporters to put forward their thoughts on the future of Offaly gaa and the best way to move forward for the county so for everyone on this forum who has compl...

Re: Accountability
I think if we are ever to fix the problems within the county first of all we have to find a way of motivating the the administrators and county board delegates first, they have to be made to understand that their mindset and attitude to being involved in the county board dictates the progress and de...

Re: Football League Division 3 2014
In what way truth? We all know things need to change but what can we take from this. In the short term, I would see that we have a manager who unfortunately is out of his depth at this level, at this moment in time. We were resting our U21s for during the week, and yet they end up coming on with 15...

Re: Football League Division 3 2014
Ros are playing with verve and confidence, with serious attacking potential, as the scoring rate the last 3 games show. As a Rossie, I'm far more looking forward to the championship this year compared to last year, but would be worried about the number of goal scoring chances we are conceding. Howe...

Re: Hurling to return to St Brendan's Park
A prize to that poster for 1 - the best debut post on this site, and 2 - the nearest and most concise summary of Offaly's hurling problems. A classic case of Nero fiddles while Rome burns. There are 101 things wrong with Offaly hurling but where they play their games isn't one of them. Those things...

Re: Football League Division 3 2014
Just after listening to a caller on the midlands sports show on sound cloud and while results are poor the term knee jerk reaction was invented for this guy, as a matter of fact i would venture that its thinking like this within Offaly GAA that has got us where we are right now Yes its been a less t...

Re: Offaly Minor Football 2014
Lads, I think this team has the potential to be special. On paper it's as strong a panel as Offaly have had in a long time. Also they still have arguably the best minor in the county, Patrick Dunican to come back in. Hopefully Kelleghan will get them going. I think we need to have a bit of perspect...

Some good news for a change
Y'know its funny i wasn't expecting anything from our under 21's tonight so it was a nice surprise to see the team deliver an excellent performance down in Wexford tonight and\ it seems Emmett Mcdonnells system is starting to sink in at U-21 level at least I'm sure the presence of a number of his fo...

Re: Why are we not thinking of these things

Re: Why are we not thinking of these things
Its just very frustrating to me that they are incapable of thinking outside the box, even simple ideas like building a coaching data base that would be updated each year for future coaches to tap into could be set up at a very low cost but there's no indication of any movement from the board to move...

Why are we not thinking of these things
This is just something that i came across on the Midlands twitter page, Westmeath are making some very shrewd investments in facilities and structures that will benefit them in the next few years and i cant help but think, why are we not thinking of initiatives like this. Athlone Institute of Techno...

Re: Football League Division 3 2014
As for your second point its stone age thinking like that, that has brought Offaly football to such low depths and i would include past board members with this mindset in that statement, i said it before and i'll say it again, what worked in the 80's and 90's will not work in today's game, sadly so...

Re: Football League Division 3 2014
Lads, we conceded more scores in our three Spring games than any other county team in Ireland, and ye think we play too defensively? That's the kind of nonsense I'd expect from two eighty year olds supping at a bar. Let me guess, ye'd be the lads at the match shouting "GIVE IT IN" when th...

Re: Tom Donohue feature in the Tribune
Had him as my P.E teacher in my Tullamore College days, a sounder man you could not meet, it was only after i left that i found out his role in that famous team of 82, had i known more about it i would have grilled him on the players and Magee a lot more, i probably could have talked to him for hour...
