Re: Hurling Championship

Yes the shark summed up the general feeling in the stand. Terrible hurling. Two poor teams. Shamrocks have lost too many players and working with the bare bones and it was expected that Brosna would want it a bit more. Two poor teams though for senior hurling. As for the other game. Tullamore were a...

Re: Hurling Championship

Some good points from the shark. It is a disaster that there is such a massive gap between round 1 and 2. The one thing I would argue with is the point about going out of our way to accomodate dual players. The way it has been for a good number of years is that you'd have maybe a football round one ...

Re: Tullamore Tribune Revelations

Headline on the hoganstand saying big names return for Offaly. Thought to myself oh have Slats and Mac returned. Unfortuantely the headline is very misleading. "Big names". Ive heard it all now. The article also stated that Aidan Keenaghan has left the panel. Now that is disappointing. He ...

Re: Tullamore Tribune Revelations

I think we are getting a bit carried away with the whole thing about Tom's comments about previous managers. Is he right in what he was saying, probably yes. Is it professional of him to come out with it, probably not. Either way I can see why he would say it. Theres a huge amount of frustration wit...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Championship

Have to say Coolderry again. They had an off day in the All Ireland final where everything that could go wrong did go wrong. On another day against Lougheil I think they would be good enough to beat them. Rynaghs have to start producing the goods. The pressure is on them now. They have had a huge am...

Re: Tullamore Tribune Revelations

Have to agree with Jimbob. Very over rated player. We are a county that seems to big up mediocrity. Drinking ban too hard to take. Some of these lads are on another planet. They have no shame. Go out and get hammered by a mickey mouse Wexford team in the Championship and have the energy to be break ...

Did the county board ever sort him out with that season ticket after? A real die hard supporter.

Re: Offaly minor hurlers

Yes would be interesting to hear the panel and also the u21 panel if anybody on here knows. Two teams that were very poor last year.

Re: Offaly v Clare NHL 01/04/2012

I know alot of the chat here is about the forwards. I feel however that Offaly are conceding far too much in every game. This has been the case for quiet a while. The Laois game is an example of a game that Offaly should have been able to keep them to 9 or 10 points especially with the extra man. Wh...

Re: Offaly v Sligo NFL 25/03/2012

Happy harry, I did not say the forwards "are" crap. I said they "were" crap at the weekend. The difference is I do think they have some football in them but they are playing as individuals and the end product is a crap performance. Some of them dont know when to pass a ball, and ...

Re: Offaly v Sligo

I'll be the first to admit that neither have caught my eye in the few times I've seen them, however I'd disagree utterly that it sends out the wrong signal. Lads being called into the county panel and refusing to come in - now that's a wrong signal, and we've had too much of that. These lads have c...

Re: Offaly v Sligo

dunne shot one wayward shot likewise casey.. so thats funny u say that. dunne is our best passer and creater in the forward line. i do agree that ther isnt great cohesion among them . but i dont think its what you are saying. they need to be coached. your a funny man long john Not being funn...

Re: Offaly v Sligo

I dont think there was any positives. The forwards were crap. Its well and good kicking a point or two but the amount of easy ball Sligo walked down the field with was ridiculous. This put heavy pressure on the backline. The problems in attack are that Guilfoyle, Dunne, Casey and even Anton take the...

Re: all ireland club hurling championship

Hard luck to Coolderry on a spirited display. I really feel the bit of luck on the day was with Lougheil. Watson sniped in for 3 goals but Eoin Ryan had 3 great chances as well that on another day would have been buried. I thought he looked really dangerous all day and so easily could have been the ...
