Re: Offaly County Board Thread
Blue Yoda ... the framework is there in the form of the Hurling Development Pathway Report. The methodology in terms of how to go about it was/is: 1. Concerned Offaly Gaels sitting down into a room. 2. Deciding to prepare a development plan and putting a committee together. 3. Getting input from out...

Re: Offaly County Board Thread
Great post Wing Back .... Out of all the points mentioned ignoring Hurling Development Pathway Report since December 2014 is the most baffling. Is it old fashioned "politics" at play whereby the structural reform proposed in the report is taken as criticism and untimely the driver not to w...

Re: Offaly v Carlow, Leinster round robin Saturday 7th May
I read rather than comment on topics on the board. I'm really surprised that given the seriousness of the topic (Hurling Development as opposed to Offaly Carlow  ) and the level of national coverage its has received that there has been relative little discussion on this. When you listed to Liam...

Re: Offaly v Cork, SHC qualifier, 25/6/2011
I couldn’t fault the players for their effort on Saturday. We lacked one cooler head in front of goals to steer us home. Some of the wides were gut wrenching especially in the course of the first half. I would take severe issue with the amount of injury time played. 7 substitutions (one was a double...

Re: Joe hits out at County Board
If the revenue side of this whole discussion is not a factor (which for Division 2 hurling it certainly is) then park it. For me the point has to be where we are better off playing and where our opponents will be less comfortable. I go to nearly all our league games in hurling and to as many footbal...

Re: Offaly Hurling team for championship v Dublin
Its been a long time since people got sick when our name was next on their fixture list. Unlike a number of others this may be the first time Dublin are happy to see us up next. Let's show them come 3:30 on Sunday that they were mistaken. It will serve as a warning to everyone else too. FYI, yhat g...

Re: Shefflin out
None of the KK players are media whores because Cody simply will not let any of them do media work. Immediately after the All Ireland and at the All Stars tend to be the only time each year that you hear/see most of those guys being interviewed. All part of Codys methodology of management … pure hur...

Re: Shefflin out
Disappointed for Shefflin, it’s never nice to see a player pick up a nasty injury of that nature particularly the wrong side of 30. Lots of talk “if anybody can afford to loose a player like him its Kilkenny”. That’s correct but it certainly leaves them a bit more vulnerable. He is a great link play...

Re: Offaly vs Tipperary SHC Qualifier Phase 3 17/07/2010
Ultimately what cost us the game was our wide count in the first half (9 to Tipp’s 4) we ended up 9 behind at half time against a 5 or 6 point wind. Some of them were bad wides of “groan” proportion. With that type of a lead at half time Tipp were never sucked into a battle, the Offaly supporters wh...

Re: Offaly v Galway Leinster Semi Final On TV?
Sorry ... Cork Limerick is on TV .... turkey shoot ahoy ... still think its lunacy for us to end up in Croke Park.

Re: Offaly v Galway Leinster Semi Final On TV?
My understanding as to why we are playing in Croke Park in a double header and not on TV is as follows. TV3 baulked at the idea of showing Cork Limerick (traditionally both Munster semi’s are live). It will probably be a turkey shoot and the audience share would go to pieces as the game went on. As ...

Re: LSHC 30th May Offaly v Antrim Parnell Park 3:30pm
That game is in Croke Park. It was originally fixed for Saturday evening in Nolan Park. To facilitate a live TV game for TV3 it was switched to a double header on the Sunday. KK Dublin at 2.00 and we are up at 4.00. I wonder why the Leinster council bother issuing a fixtures list in the first place ...

Re: LSHC 30th May Offaly v Antrim Parnell Park 3:30pm
Was in Parnell Park yesterday. A very frustrating performance. We recovered well from a sucker punch of a start. This can happen and scoring 1-8 without reply was exactly what the doctor ordered. At this stage we were cruising and were certainly in a position to kick on. But as happened against Lime...

Re: Offaly subs
My understanding is that there is a new rule in place to limit the amount of subs that you can actually have available on match day. I think in the programme last week M<eath has 24 or 26 listed (whatever the new limit is). I stand to be corrected on this but I think its the case.
