Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
To best of my knowledge, it wasn't lack of game time in Ruairi McNamee leaving. He got good bit of game time under DK regime years - maybe not as much as he would have liked but he got game time. The bigger picture is why are lads who were involved in 2024 year not making themselves available in ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
I am not overly sure of how to explain this very simple concept in a way that it has not been explained to you already Snotser.
The team of last year is acceptable and likely close to the team of what plenty would choose. That is us at full strength missing nobody which will rarely happen. We had 5 ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
With reference to Saturday, lots has been made of that u20 group and all they've done etc and senior team built around them etc etc etc. However, This is a real nod of acclaim and well done to the more senior lads who actually carried us the last day and some of whom, have been doing this for a ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Lets be balanced here.
In his first year in charge, but also as joint manager with Mickey Harte, Declan Kelly took a hardline approach to who he wanted and didn't want on the panel. As manager/co-manager, that is his right, it's not reasonable to give someone a job and then dictate how they do ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
The following is the team that were beaten by London in 2024 - DK first year.

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Listening to Johnny Kelly on eoghan cahill and speaking how he trained his butt off right thru the league despite in Johnny's words not getting next nor near a starting spot for a team who at the time were losing every game and people thought would be in a shoot out with Kildare for relegation ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Think some are being extra hard on our lads. It was game of 2 halves - with and without the wind. We were within striking distance at HT after good 1st half. We were slow to get going in second but when we did, we were clearly better than them. Give our lads credit. We beat Wexford in Liam McCarthy ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Super win. Finally we got over the line. Couple of observations. Higgins back was major factor. Ability to win few kickouts gave us platform to compete on kickouts. We had Higgins, Leavy, Hayes and McEvoy all in middle third. That was major advancement on what we have had to date this year. O Neill ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Alot of talk of player unrest ....but no player has left the camp and players like higgings , Hyland and Tierney all deciding to stay on despite being injured through the horrible league campaign and could have taken the easy option and stayed away until next season when presumably new management ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
All things being right, this should be fairly close. Met a player the other day and was happy to hear that mood is boosted a bit by Galway win and that they are hopeful to get over the line on Saturday. Dont think there are any new injuries etc so should be full stack to select from. Anybody hear ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Bottom team in Div 2 will rarely play in Sam Maguire based on league form as they are often trumped by a lower tier team who might make a provincial final.
Only way Offaly play in Sam Maguire was to reach Leinster Final. You'd have to admire how Westmeath have done over last number of years with ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Maybe we have turned corner a bit and win v Galway is great for morale. Getting more time into the returnees is obviously a good thing too! All things being right, there should be little between the teams in this one. Going back over the last 10 years or so when we were up against them in league ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Would expect very few from Offaly to travel 2 hours for that. Lots of GAA people with kids that might go etc would be involved in matches themselves on a Saturday morning I'd imagine, and going to Ennis for 3.30pm to get to match will be a very hard sell, given we barely got anyone to Cavan or Meath ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026
Smoking drinking covering 5k on the pitch and playing a game that is unrecognisable today.. pick any player off the field as he was in he 80s and he'd struggle in a club junior b game now.. fact!! Same with soccer.. seen a stat players in the 80s covered 4k a game compared to 11k now.. they ...
