Excellent idea. My best memory is from the early 80's and hard to get I'd say. Offaly v Wexford - Joachim and Mick Jacob(I think) going for a ball under the Hogan stand close to the sideline - right in front of me. Joachim flat out eye on the ball, Jacob flat out eye on Joachim. Both get to the ball...

Thanks LS you got me looking at the GAA h/caps and I went with Limerick footballers +4 at 1/1,Dublin hurlers +6 at 5/6,and Wexford hurlers +6 at 4/5 to give a decent treble at just over 6and a half to one and it came home rather comfortably.

TG4 - 1985 HURLING FINAL

Came across this by accident last night and 'twas great to watch. I thought that this was Michael O'Hehir's last commentary on an all-Ireland final, however it was Ger Canning and side kick for the day Eamon Cregan. Can anyone confirm what was his last all-Ireland commentary?

LS players name was Kevin Smith and he scored 1-4 in the semi final before being sent off in the last minute for mouthing. He is on the Longford senior team. Last time Abeylara were in Leinster they convincingly beat St. Josephs Laois and then lost by two points to Na Fianna Dublin. They have been t...

LS- Just 1 correction. Abbeylara in Longford have won county championships recently and I seen their semi-final and final, they won the final without their top forward and I don’t feel they will be pushovers. They are well balanced all over the field. I don’t know who they are playing in Leinster.

Clara /Shamrocks

Excellent result today. An excellent match played hard and fair. Now that the cars parked, more pints to follow and must remember to book off October 9th!! Shamrocks were too full sure of today’s match and paid the price. Clara made a lot of errors but did play well. They are young and the last 2 ga...

1981 how would they fare in todays structure?

Indeed these guys were leaders and strong-minded men. I am one who admits being a doubting Thomas and do not claim to be 1 of the 8000 who attended in 1980. The achievement that day would be the same as our current crop beating Kilkenny in next years Leinster final. What they did was unprecedented –...

I am agreeing that we do need changes.I do not feel that this is the answer. I favour reducing the number of games a lot even to go to the old knock out championship.

Leinster football seeding

Following my attempts to argue that Offaly footballers had an average year which was masked by the Leinster final appearance, I wonder does anyone else have a mental picture of the status/hierarchy in Leinster football. As far as I am concerned we are better than the 3 teams we beat and therefore vi...
