Re: Offaly/Clubber

It's an Offaly GAA decision. Coverage will be expanded when it comes to the knockout stages, but for the moment, it's two games per week.

Re: Offaly management 2027

The logistics of the intercounty manager role is completely different to what it was, so while I wouldn't set a line in the sand about needing to have X amount of experience, I'd still say that it would be better to have a feel for what that's like through proximity as a backroom team member or a ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling 2026

Have to say I was expecting more from Birr than I saw yesterday. After years of struggling to find scoring support for Cahill, they went into this game with Luke Nolan, Morgan Watkins, Ailbe Watkins and Lochlainn Quinn, and that's before you'd factor in the likes of Harding and Mulrooney to pop over ...

Re: Offaly management 2027

Anything near an all offaly ( if possible) management team is whats needed.

Unlikely, to say the least of it. There are a few potential Offaly managers on the go in the county, but even if any of them got it, they'd probably need a sprinkling of stardust from outside.

Paschal Kelleghan ...

Re: Offaly Senior B Hurling Championship

I wouldn’t mind seeing the Senior B and Senior A amalgamated into 1 and then run the Senior B after. Something like the football, where there’s a stronger and weaker group/tiered groups, those who qualify contest Senior A proper then those who don’t go into the Senior B.

I know it’s a random ...

Re: Offaly management 2027

Donegal is twice the size of Offaly in terms of population, and McGuinness is a unique individual, who fell out with one high profile player, after he had already made a strong impression on the rest of the panel that this was a group that was going to do things very differently, and that they were ...

Re: Offaly management 2027

I don't know Stephen Rochford's personal circumstances, I've never met the man, I've no idea if he'd be the right person for the job or if he'd be interested.

I would however, STRONGLY push back on the idea that this isn't an attractive gig for an ambitious, progressive manager. It's a dream gig ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

To me, it sums up Cork that even when they're going badly, they cannot conceive that it might be because others are better than them in any way. They clung onto this myth that they're "too nice", not understanding that Limerick weren't winning games because they were willing to lower the blade in a ...

Re: Offaly management 2027

Im not citing those as evidence of a happy camp but i know that the camp is happy and everyone has their shoulder to the wheel.. and thats the way forward and its a culture created by declan kelly and mickey harte and if we start this shite of bringing back in wishy washy lads we are going ...

Re: Offaly management 2027

How do we know the clubs are against it? Theres what 20 regular contibutors on here and they seem to think that they represent the views of the 50 odd thousand others that would have an opinion.. players and camp appear to be happy given our run in the tailteann cup. If every manager was to be ...

Re: Offaly management 2027

Management to be reappointed for two more years even though players who are guaranteed starters have asked for a change and also clubs are unhappy. It is unfair but the county board have decided they want DK and MH to remain, so we need to move on now. Hopefully we gain promotion in 2027 and a ...

Re: Offaly management 2027

Also these comparisons with westmeath are silly, westmeath have a much bigger pool and they are split 70/30 or more in favour of football versus the 50/50 in offaly, big big difference..

Up to now, I always wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt as someone who I genuinely and vehemently ...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling 2026

Great win for Clareen tonight.
Ominous for Coolderry. Could relegation await?

Hold on for a moment did you see the coolderry team, at least 7/8 starters missing and Clareen bearly scraped by. Nothing to be celebrating about . And the end of the day it was an intermediate team playing a senior ...

Re: Offaly management 2027

This has been discussed at length, and I don't think anyone's mind will be changed on the matter at this point. Like many of ye I'm sure, I've heard plenty of chats about what was said after the game in the dressing room and on the bus home, but since I wasn't there, I'm not going to perpetuate that ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026

All that said, we are absolutely not 1/2 favourites for this game. 4/5, at a push. I wouldn't back against Offaly since I'd take no joy in collecting any money won and I'd feel twice as bad about losing money that way, but there are three obvious bets for me this weekend, and Wexford plus on the ...
