Re: DIV 3 NFL predictions and general chit chat.

Shadow Cork team in the McGrath cup, probably around five first string lads. John Moloney injured, expected back during the league. Peter Cunningham is doing his obligatory tour of duty with the army, should be back for the summer but obviously wouldn't have any football played at that stage. Niall ...

Re: DIV 3 NFL predictions and general chit chat.

Shameless promotion of local fundraisers aside, I'd increase the margins in most of those games. Leitrim aren't as bad as their shocking FBD result suggested, but they are in big trouble and realistically, away to Derry should be far too much for them. If they can stay within five of Derry that woul...

If anybody takes themselves seriously as a tipster, you have to be on board with this! :D

Re: Byrne v Duignan

Credit where it's due, I was very worried about the lack of experience after convention but the new group have gone the right way about addressing that, bringing in some very good people into key roles. Obviously the work only starts now, but you'd have to be encouraged.

0.4 points for him tonight and 0.1 for Jack Walsh. That makes it 1.17 in 3 matches for Farrell. Unbelievable scoring.

4 Offaly plyers will be represented between the Sigerson finalists which is fantastic to see.
Farrell, Walsh, Tierney and ??

Re: O’Byrne Cup

Searing, I presume you are referring to the first five minutes of the second half? Offaly had 14 men in their own half, i'd say that was tactical, waiting for Anton to resume after his black card... Jimbob Panda best forward? in fairness he won a lot a ball but his distribution was poor, he possibl...

Re: Sigerson/Fitzgibbon 2020

Another 7 points for Cian Farrell in the Q/F. Great to see him and Jack Walsh playing for Carlow, who will face Letterkenny IT in the semi final. I cannot see whether Shane Tierney was involved for DCU in their Q/F? I was in Carlow yesterday, Cian was absolutely excellent. A couple of "rush of bloo...

Re: Kehoe Cup 2019/2020

Just as a question, is there any point to having joe and shane there, it'll be at least 3 years before offaly be back in liam McCarthy. Better to move on and get a new team together with a long term view to things. I don't subscribe to this logic at all. There's plenty of room in the panel for the ...

Re: Kehoe Cup 2019/2020

I genuinely don't know the answer as to what is the best approach. Based on how last year went, maybe the decision that was taken was seen as the most logical. The obvious goal this year is to get back to Joe Mc Donagh for next year. That is seen as vital. Would it be the end of the world if we did...

That would be a career of covering local and national GAA. Ongoing involvement in GAA administration. Involvement in two large sponsorship deals, dealing directly with county boards from the other side. If you disagree, disagree, but it's hardly a controversial view to say that different ways of wo...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

First and foremost, congratulations and well done to Michael and everyone elected last night. I'm mildly surprised by the result even allowing for the late surge that there was in support for him, much of it on the back of the Tullamore members giving him such a public endorsement at their AGM. If t...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

it's not realistic for most clubs to hold their AGM before convention
Is it not a requirement in Official Guide for club to hold AGM before convention ???
It is - however it's a rule that's widely ignored, and in many cases it's ignored because in order to have your AGM held befor...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

Unfortunately I feel public opinion and delegate votes are not aligned for December 10th. If a vote of Offaly GAA patrons was held in the morning, I have no doubt whatsoever what way this would go but the hopes are pinned to club delegates and I have no confidence in their willingness for change. L...
