Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Sorry revised list:
(I had a major brain fart earlier)
Carlow
Laois
Offaly
Westmeath
Antrim
Waterford
Dublin or Cork (more than likely Dublin)
Apologies.
Ha!! Happens to the best of us! Have only been up to 1 Offaly game this year (Waterford one) and thought that ye were unlucky with the ...

Laois?? We (Carlow) got promoted today! So not sure where you getting that!!frankthetank wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 7:03 pm Offaly will compete in Division 1B of the league next year. The group will consist of:
Offaly
Dublin
Antrim
Westmeath
Laois
Waterford
Plus one more which most probably will be the loser of Cork v Wexford.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Hi men. So we both came to an end yesterday and I suppose it was more or less expected. We gave the dubs a good game but you could see the difference in things when push came to shove. While having another incentive for the Joe mc finalists like these prelim q finals sounds great, most likely it's ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Look no disrespect but you didn't come under any radar offaly were far better in previous games of the joe mcdonagh and knew exactly what to expect from carlow, what carlow forwards were doing one end offaly dropped balls hit misplaced passes the other that's the difference not because:
Fitzgibon ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
I wonder how much help has having a Kilkenny manager and playing in Kilkenny leagues been to Carlow players for proficiency under the high ball?
If you couldn't win your own ball, Brian Cody didn't want to know about you. Early career TJ Reid being a great example.
Unfortunately the traditional ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
I m bet and I was only watching!
What a game. As a Carlow man, I m delighted and the win epitomizes the spirit within the small pocket of hurling in the county here. It's a cruel way to loose on your players. I thought ye had some outstanding performances across the team but 1/2 whom I thought weren ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Went up after - no one wanted the tickets, so I grabbed a few and away we went! Lots of tickets available apparently (I know of 3 left at the gate alone..). No issue with venue etc. A thing of nothing in the end.. the game itself was a strange one. I d love to see the wide tallies - I d say Kildare ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
An outsiders view - it happens! Unfortunately or not counties will take any advantage they can take especially in a must win game. This isn't about spectators (Kildare most likely loosing revenue/would bring a big crowd etc if elsewhere) but about the familiar surroundings of a pitch for the players ...

Re: Joe McDonagh cup
Firstly, best wishes to all the players and management in the coming weeks. They have been preparing hard no doubt over the last few weeks since our game and that can't be forgotten either along with some club action. I think the Joe mcdonagh cup is a great competition and pitched at the right level ...

Re: NHL Division 1B 2019
I don't like beating the same drum, but I wasn't the only one who noticed the poor home crowd there yesterday - mentioned by some pundits in papers etc. This is not the players fault, nor the management's, nor the county board etc. Surely when your county needs ye after all the good days, he d come ...

Re: NHL Division 1B 2019
[quote="llkj"]Question for you Old Yellar, has Carlow done much to grow the game in and around Carlow town in recent times? I know there is a hurling club there, but from what I know they are usually weak and struggling to survive. In a county with around 60K population, if Carlow are to have any ...
