Re: Joe McDonagh cup
Substandard.......best post I've ever read on this forum Every Offaly person has a responsibilty to help with this mess. Two very simple suggestions as follows; 1) Get out with your kids and get them kicking and pucking ball any chance you can 2) Not only drop them to training but stay and give what...

Re: Leinster Club - Football
Nothing for Rhode to learn as Mullinalaghta haven't won a leinster yet. If and when they win one, then perhaps. Big step up in class for them the next day out. Hopefully they put it up to Kilmacud but hard to see them winning it.

Re: Senior A Football 2018
And so the records keep falling. What a wonderful performance by Rhode yesterday. Probably their most complete final performance since 2008. Just when you think father time might be catching up with them, they come out and dominate a relatively young Ferbane team who in all truth never looked like w...

Re: Offaly SFC Structure a Joke
It's a complete disaster. Terrible games, attendances and atmosphere. Win 2 games and there's a good chance you'll qualify for a QF, it's a joke.

Re: Football league 3 2017
Well done to Pat Flanagan, his management team and the players yesterday. It was a very entertaining game and we stood up to the mark big time. They had the game won on at least two different occasions but mistakes allowed Laois back into it. Going into the game I was worried that the Laois midfield...

Re: Offaly Senior Club Championship
Really gone to the dogs now. Rynaghs only scored 3 points against rhode today, all in the 1st half. Shocking stuff. Barely four competitive teams at senior level

Re: Rhode in Leinster - 2014
This might come as a surprise to many but Rhode didn't change their game plan for this match. As Ls rightly pointed out, they simply weren't allowed execute their normal style of play against a far better side than anything they have faced all year. The truth is, that vincents side would beat the pi...

Re: Rhode in Leinster - 2014
Great performance by Rhode. LS why did you write them off so badly in your column? Not attacking you but all indications going into this game were that they would win it. Playing at home, two good wins on the trot against good teams and a moorefield team who haven't really been firing on all cylinde...

Re: selling out to Rupert?
I hope this isnt too stupid of a question but why exactly do we need to grow our games in places like Oz? Should the gaa not concentrate on trying to fix problems at home before looking to expand and take over the world? Poor facilities, small clubs dying on their feet due to emigration, the lack of...

Re: Offaly vs Limerick
It was my first time seeing the hurlers this year and its hard to know what to make of the game. Happy to sneak a draw but we could have won it (we could also easily have lost it!) For me, the half back line struggled and the quality of the ball going into the full forward line was terrible. Big hig...

Re: Offaly Senior Team Progress
I'm not here to pick holes in your argument Offaly1982 but who exactly are you talking about when you say "get the best players in the county available"? Lets be honest, the pool of players he has to pick from is shallow (the quality of the senior semi finals is testament to that) and to b...

Re: senior football final Rhode vs Tullamore 15.30 sunday 13
Great stuff Magpie, really well written. I think LS is correct in fearing the worst regarding this being a really tight competitive game. I have seen a lot of both teams this year and I can't see anything other than a comfortable enough win for the village. Tullamore simply do not have enough qualit...

Re: Why
They missed a training session and you don't need to be a genius to work out why. It's a real pity after all the hard work and commitment they had shown to get this far but discipline is discipline. If McDonnell doesnt have that, he has nothing.

Re: Allianz FL Division 4 2013
First off well done to the lads for getting that result yesterday and for winning promotion. I know a serious amount of hard work has been done by the players and management over the last few months so they deserve a lot of credit for that. Obviously their style of play has divide opinion, one side ...
