Re: O'Byrne Cup 2012

In his absence, Clara's James Stewart was in charge, ironically making it two men from the same town in charge of the respective teams, as Westmeath manager Pat Flanagan also hails from the Offaly village.

Re: New York 'Stuff'

Good to see they are keeping the tradition alive of having one lad on the team in an older jersey :D
Like Ferbane footballers, always have a couple of lads in guaranteed irish shirts

Re: Offaly Senior Football Club Championship 2011

I also think its very unfair to question any players transfer or motives without knowing the full picture.
Bear in mind that even with a player available for weekends, many games are now played on weekday nights, making it extremely difficult on any player that has to travel

Re: Offaly V Limerick SFCQ 09/07/2011

The best bit is that they held off naming a time/venue for the football awaiting the outcome of the Limerick hurling qualifier.........then go and fix them on the same day anyway :D

Re: Interview with Jody Gunning

I remember when I was a young lad we had to walk 27 miles to school in our bare feet, over mostly broken glass and brambles, with a sod of turf under our arms for the fire in school that day. It rained every day and was colder than the artic most days. Then we got beaten around the place for the day...

BREAKING NEWS

The first John Bracken poster has been spotted, and in a world of change it's comforting to see some things are still the same.

Re: Brian Cowen's legacy of failure as Taoiseach

I'll never forget the night TV3 had Jim Corr and Denis Hickey "debating" the pro's and cons of the lisbon treaty :D

Regarding Cowen and his cronies, its the Peter principle, plain and simple.

"and there are teams all over the world losing also, some may not be down by 32 points, but they are in a very similar situation to us" "We have a van load of lads from brussels arriving for the second half, hopefully they can turn the match around, if not, we will offer a walk over w...

Re: General Election time

It might work...or it might not. The freedom to appoint experts might by stretched a little. Look at happens in happens with the Seanad. Fellas that failed to get elected in the General Election get a plumb job there instead to pacify them. The Cabinet could end up being the same. Imagine if at the...

Re: General Election time

General elections are great craic, this one may not be, as there is a lot riding on it! We really need a complete system overhaul, maybe something similar to the American system (similar now, not the same :P ) One Elected figure head, who then "employs" professionals to the particular cabi...
