Re: Allianz-Hurling-league 1B
Ciaran Slevin found the step from club hurling to county level too much. Jesus give the man a break. His first start today in midfield which is not his strongest position. It's not as if any of the "county" stars shone today either. A poor performance all round, 1-1 is an awful return for...

Re: All Ireland Club Hurling Championship 2012-2013
We've been through this debate before, with different teams. It is possible to hope for something and passionately wish it to happen with your heart, while still realising with your head that it's highly unlikely. Obviously in my line of work I have to be able to do that, and occasionally you are p...

Re: McDonnell in running for Offaly football job
Midland 3 have reported on Facebook that Emmet McDonnell has the Offaly senior job. Surely he should have been given minor job and Stephen Darby the senior job. Doesn't make sense. Hope a decent 3 or 5 year plan will be put in place. The Committee, (Pat Teehan, Martin Boland, Fr Sean Heaney, Dave K...

McDonnell in running for Offaly football job
Emmet McDonnell has emerged as a surprise contender for the vacant Offaly football manager's post. The Kinnegad man, who guided St. Mary's of Edenderry to an historic Hogan Cup success earlier this year, is understood to have held talks with the special committee - comprising county board chairman P...

And the time is also changed. It's now on at 5.00 instead of 7.30, not that the Offaly GAA website would tell you any of that!lusmagh wrote:For anyone thinking of attending, please note that our IHC game this evening v K/K will now be played in Banagher.

Re: Revolution not reform needed in underage hurling
He wasn't. He managed K/K from 2006 to 2008. Johnny Pilkington was K/K manager in 2009.Sharp Eye wrote:
I know that John Leahy worked as a coach with this year's minor team since they were aged 12. I think he might have been manager of Kilcormac/Killoughy when Tullamore shocked them in the county final.

Re: Offaly versus Kildare 16th June 2012
Seanie Johnston free to play. His appeal was successful. He's not free to play yet according to Hoganstand. He has to play a club championship game in Kildare before he is eligible to play with the county team and the second round of the championship there is not fixed until after Kildare after kno...

Some Wexford views on the game: http://www.thefreekick.com/board/topic/15411-wexford-gaa-2012/page__st__340__p__598940#entry598940 I won't be lowering myself to look at their views anymore! Couldn't believe we managed to throw away the game today although at least we are still in promotion s...

Re: Offaly Senior Inter County Hurling 2012
I know the Birr Tullamore debate on where the hurling should be played but todays crowd was the worst i have seen at a home game for a while. Good jaysis, don't bring that debate back up to justify the small crowd at a walsh shield match. There'd be a small crowd at it, no matter where it was! but ...

Re: McManus ends Offaly career
He has been a fantastic servant to the county and always always gave 100% to the jersey, and even on bad days (of which we have had a lot!), Ciarán would always be trying until the end. It'd be great to see him involved with an Offaly team at some stage in the future, I'm sure his belief and passion...

Re: U21 Football Management
Possibly discussed here before but I didn't see it. Just heard that Pascal Keelaghan will be the new U21 manager with Ger Rafferty as one of his selectors. Can anyone confirm? Yes, Midlands Radio 3 reported this last night and has since been confirmed on the Offaly GAA website. His other three sele...

I have it lads, I have it. It's November, Townman is off the beer and there are serious withdrawl symptoms surfacing leading to a rise in aggression levels. He'll be fine on December 1st. Lone Shark are you going to open a book on who he'll fall out with next? Myself and POTH in the last two days. ...

Re: new football manager
Anyone know if there is something else going on here that we dont know about? I would hardly call a 2 week period between interview and decision as a reason for pulling out of the race. In fairness, I am sure the selection committee are going through their own internal process which may involve sev...

Leinster Championship Draws 2012
Hurlers have been drawn to play Wexford in the quarter-final. I presume this will be in Tullamore as per Home/Away arrangement? Winners go on to play probably Galway in the semi presuming they beat either Antrim or Westmeath. Not a bad draw here, hopefully with a positive managerial appointment we c...
