Re: Cooney Interview & Club Plan - Edenderry GAA

"I would condone in a special way the behaviour of anybody who behaves after a match and tries to intimidate a referee." (a quote from Christy Cooneys interview!) So now we know, Intimidation of refs comes from the very top! An unfortunate typo, or use of language. Where's me hurl? Im off ...

Re: offaly v cork NHL

Seems to be a consensus that we kept trying to the end and a couple of breaks went against us in terms of goals. I am disgusted if that is true with Carroll. He has gotten every chance over the years and I never saw Captain material in him. James Rigney not a corner back. Wynne should fit in here or...

Re: Offaly team to play Wexford in NFL

Looks like we went 47 minutes of this game scoring 4 points. Have to get more consistency into our scoring ratio. If we had scrapped a draw we would be in a great position.

Re: Offaly play waiting game on veteran goalie Mullins

His puck out is Mullins big problem, and despite being a great shotstopper, always liable to let in a couple of soft ones. Wonder would would the issue over having to wear a helmet be a big concern for him?

Re: No more U12 Championship

I agree totally with this. I only got involved last year and was at a coaching course in OConnor Park. There was fierce pushback against the u10 championship being done away with. The argument was that the blitzes are not taken seriously! I mean have they lost the plot? I was amazed that so many you...

Re: 2010 O'Byrne Cup - Offaly vs. DCU

Leinsterman, I would not be a big fan of Joe Brady's, but with so many players absent you need to have some experience mixed in through the team. I would not expect him to make a huge impact against the players you spoke about, but against Galway, and Limerick he might have something to offer. Conor...

Re: Question #1 - Single season campaigner with most appearances

Was looking at the question and Larry came to mind, and I think John Ryan played in the 98 championship at full back against Meath. Where do I collect me prize( 2 tins of Harp?)!

Re: 2010 O'Byrne Cup - Offaly vs. DCU

"In my experience the a lot of players who come off the bench tend to hide a little and play it safe until the final whistle goes. " What? Why would these players even bother going in to play with Offaly, and would they not be found out. And can you name an example of a player like this? M...

Could it be the great Larry Carroll from Clara at full back during 1997?

Re: Offaly football panel 2010

Bracken from wht Ive heard and seen would not have the necessary interest or committment to play Senior County football. Think he committed to soccer last year. Meehan is watery enough under the high ball and lets face it, this is the bread and butter of the job. I think Mulhall should be given anot...

Re: Best Offaly Hurlers of the decade

Oakley a joke? He might not be the best of hurlers skillwise, but by God he makes up for it in other ways! He has soldiered on and delivered some great displays, and if only a few more could have taken his example on board we may not have fallen as far down the pecking order. I would have Franks in ...
