Re: OFFALY V DOWN.

Ye are looking good for promotion now Mourne Mogul, a win over the Rossies will see ye home. As for us, will be down to the last game against Limerick to secure our status. Will be tough, but our home form is what has kept us in with a chance of stayin up.

Re: OFFALY V CAVAN.

"I havent seen them play this year at all so I am not qualified to say too much, but two general comments I'd like to make" Bare Biffo, at least you admit that. You are definitely not alone in not havin seen them play! I would feel that everything Lone Shark has said about Alan Mc is true,...

Re: OFFALY V CAVAN.

Hats off to the lads for a fine display today! After the shambles of last week this was a big improvement. They worked hard and kicked some great scores. Also with the way results have gone today a defeat would almost certainly have spelled relegation. Mulhall played well, and tried to direct his ki...

Re: OFFALY V CAVAN.

3,3,2,3,3! How come we never thought of that. No doubt with Frank Weir at Full forward ably flanked by Davie on one side and Tom Fitzpayrick on the other, with Paschal Dempsey doin the "lorryin"!! God be with the days!

Re: OFFALY V CAVAN.

This is going to be a hell of test for us. The one week turn around will leave it difficult to address all the weaknesses that showed up last Sunday. Few points: Can McManus, Alan Mc, Sean Ryan, Evans, Carroll, Mitchell all be as bad again. I hope not! We have to protect our backline, and a harder w...

Re: OFFALY VERSUS TIPP

I'll agree to disagree on Sully. His man may not have gotten scores, but if you look at the amount of possesion he got and laid off then he was a problem. I agree it was a bad pass, but you are trying to make excuses for a man who still had loads of time to recover had when he reached the ball was o...

Re: OFFALY VERSUS TIPP

Couple of points, Shane Sullivan will never have the pace or concentration to be a man marker. I saw plenty of praise last year for him against Weatmeath, until his sending off. Thats because we had so many men behind the ball. As for Raff, absolutely brutal when he came on. His attempt at picking t...

Re: Reeling In The Years 2 Club Football 1988-1998

That minor team in '89 went on to win the only All Ireland minor club competition ever run, after winning Leinster they competed over a weekend in Belfast, winning a semi final against Dungiven of Derry, and I think Mervue from Galway in the final. And te irony was that the Ferbane/Belmont(to be cor...

Re: Reeling In The Years 2 Club Football 1988-1998

Any chance of a return to the glory days in Ferbane with the maestro Kevin Gavin back in charge? A pure gentleman, but by God could he dish out a heavy training session! The committment of that Ferbane team was unreal, and they maximised their talent to the limit. Similar to the scenario for the hur...

Re: OFFALY VERSUS TIPP

Hayes Hotel would be ok, but think there is a night club so for any older lads, might keep ye awake! The Anner hotel is a nice spot, should be quiet enough but only a 5 minute walk from the town centre. With the new motorway just outside Durrow , Thurles is only a short hop now if you are heading th...

Re: Offaly v Louth NFL

Is the game next week end definitely on in Thurles? Would fancy us big time there. But have a suspicion we could be ferried down to Ardfinnan or somewhere like that! Some difference in the drive, and playing the game in front of 1500 or so in Thurles would leave it neutral enough. Tipp beating Limer...

Re: Sigerson/Fitzgibbon Cups

In fairness Athlumney Boy, Dylan Hayden? He was only on for 10 mins or so and got one ball. To me he is one overrated hurler. His effort levels would be way below the likes of Sean Ryan, and whilst he has the skill, this effort is the difference at the top level, (in reality should be the other way ...

Re: Offaly v Louth NFL

Hi All, Have logged on here and finally got registered after a while lookin in over the fence! Very happy with the win yesterday, good all round performance. Deehan's performance was the highlight for me. This was a great display from him. Shaper too won a lot of ball. What we had that made the diff...
