Re: Leagues
County website is a disgrace. I suggest we all ask our club secretaries / delegates to highlight it at next county board meeting. In the meantime, here's next week's fixtures. Sorry bout poor format. Not supposed to be on web in work  Friday 12th March Division 1 Football Walsh Island v Gracefi...

Re: Draw for championship
Anyone know what way Junior 'C' will work? One group of 6. Could be lot of dead duck games if it's top 2 into final.

Re: League structure 2010
Does this mean that Raheen are straight back down now too? Very harsh on them if that's the case as well - and one would have thought that they would have had a decent advocate at the top table in Martin Boland. Don't think it affects Raheen as they're Intermediate and will be Div 2 regardless. Thi...

Re: League structure 2010
Ah no! If it's not broken............ I'm not saying it's perfect, but teams are in the divisions they are in now on merit. Very unfair on Cappincur and others no doubt. If Walsh Island had lost Intermediate final, they would then be relegated to Div. 2 in league despite reaching Div. 1 final this y...

Re: Leinster SHC 2010
Perhaps the GAA should have some guidelines in relation to the home and away arrangments for championship matches instead (like everything else) of making it up as they go along. Its also unfair that Dublin footballers play all their matches in Croke Park. I think the Longford qualifier 3 years ago...

Re: Walsh Island vs Tubberclair - Leinster IFC semi 22/11
I Was there alright. Poor match played in dreadful conditions. Red card a piece with Walsh Island hitting about 17 wides. Walsh Island were nowhere near the standard they've been all year. Still though, not a bad year for D'Island, but pity not to push on to Leinster final. Other Inter semi didn't s...

Re: Walsh Island vs Tubberclair - Leinster IFC semi 22/11
It's a pity alright that this match is on at the same time as Clara match. As well as interest in Walsh Island/Clara games, I'd imagine similar interest in Tubberclair/Garycastle's progress from followers in Westmeath. Hopefully WI will have a good crowd there though, they had a good following down ...

Re: IFC
One for the football anoraks: Lads when did Walsh Island last play senior football? I recall they went down to junior ranks at one stage, and right enough I see they won the Junior football title in 1996. In the absence of a Walsh Island contributor, I would hazard the guess that it was 1992 and it...

Hard not to bash Tullamore when a town that size can't field a team for 1st round of Intermediate championshipKemo Sabe wrote:easy to know offalys interests is over for the summer when the tullamore bashing starts

Re: the so called gulf between senior and intermediate
2-up, 2-down would help Offaly football. Senior clubs who are masters of surviving, but not of thriving would need to show a little bit more ambition. Intermediate clubs, who have talent, but just get edged out every year at the scramble for the escape door would have something more to fight for. S...
