Re: Offaly v Westmeath, Mullingar, Sunday 1st May
It really is ridiculous to think that Sheedy has his hand in our till and yet he was not even present for our first round of the championship. It's not the the fault of the Tipperary men that we have fallen so low, but they have accepted the task of trying to reverse the decline.

Re: Leinster MHC 2016
Well done to the minors today. As we saw for the senior team travelling to Mullingar can't be taken for granted. Best of luck to all for the semi final.

Just as well they don't have the internet in Westmeath, otherwise they might find out about our plans!Killeighman wrote:I have heard that there will be changes to that Offaly team before the game starts. I'm sure you will know who they are.

Re: Leinster MHC 2016
I too would like to thank all the VOLUNTEERS who give so much to run the GAA in our county. We all may pick out things we would like to see done differently, but these men and women really do a thankless job. With regard to the right structures being in place, I do believe some progress is now being...

Re: Leinster MFC 2016
It is very difficult now realistically to be able to compete with Dublin on a consistent basis at underage level. Even if the correct preparation has gone into the team, the fact of the matter is that Dublin's team will be equally well prepared. However the pool of talent which Dublin can draw on is...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
Joe Bloggs I think you had a madness moment and you are the one making things up as you go!! fumbling different proposals for your argument. I think your proposal of one group with 8 teams will not work. Firstly banishing the league will not work and is not in the interest of the club player. And o...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
That 1 game and you're either in or out of the senior championship wouldn't be popular with the players. A couple of injuries to key players and that's your chance of winning the senior championship over in one game. My ideal would be eight teams. One group. Top 4 semis. Bottom 2 relegation final. 9...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
Joe Bloggs if you read my post correctly you would see that 6 of the 8 stronger teams would get through. Top 3 through and 4th team is finished for the year. Realistically for a team to come 4th they wouldn't win a group game and that's what is kind of happening @ the moment. The team coming 4th is...

I know who 'c doughan' is, but 'a while'? Who's he? Is he from Kilcormac? Or should that be 'k killoughey'? without c doughan for a while . our option dont look great with the current panel. I'd bring the following players onto the panel... p ennis, s lavery, c rock, a hoare, w anchor, a ryan, m le...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016
Yes Kaiserchief, in fairness we can't blame the CB for this. They knew change was needed and clubs out of pure ignorance rejected it. How is this format beneficial to anyone? Don't know about implementing a senior b competition. I'd be keen to go back to 3 groups of four with one so called weaker g...

Re: new offaly constituency?
Funny how times change. Sinn Fein would have been well off the radar in Offaly until recently. John Carroll ran a couple of times in the 80s and got a few votes around the Birr area, but was down the rankings. As recently as the 1997 General Election, Sinn Fein didn't even run a candidate in Leix/O...

Farmers are very good at applying for grants!manfromdelmonte wrote:Why do even more rural counties, like Roscommon have a higher third level attendance rate than Offaly?
And therefore, more lads probably playing Sigerson football.

In the height of summer teams aren't allowed to do warm ups in OCP.
Common sense given the recent weather would tell anyone not to do a warm up on the match pitch if an alternative was available.

Re: 2016 Championship
Greenairfield you are throwing in some ridiculous stuff now about lads from the from the far end of the county, we know best about hurling matters etc. The great Offaly teams of the past paid no heed to codswallop such as that. Sure if the did we shouldn't have ever even tried playing against the li...
