Re: Changing of Underage grades and Separation from adult

When this motion came to our Minor Club we voted overwhelmingly to change. The main reason was that we have seen countless young lads leave Minor at 17 and disappear completely without making any attempt to play for the Senior Club. The Year makes a big difference in terms of physical development an...

Re: Offaly Hurlers 2022

I wonder if he has been approached by Kilkenny to be part of the team to replace Cody - strange that he left it this late and the fact he was at the matches on Saturday

Re: DIV 3 NFL predictions and general chit chat.

Clifford is gifted for Kerry and he got free on Sat to level it (I think O'Se was wallopped earlier in match or something...sometimes you need to keep the gifted players ticking over...just an idea.... Sean O'Shea was sent off (Yellow & Black Card) just before Clifford got the free to level it.

Re: Election 2020 laois offaly

Listening to Ivan Yates yesterday evening he thinks - Cowen (FF), Fleming (FF), Flanagan (FG) & Stanley (SF) with the last seat coming down to a bit of a dog fight. He reckons that Ormond (FF) will take it. I wouldn't rule out John Leahy (IND) though. Carol Nolan has lost a portion of her votes ...

Re: DIV 3 NFL predictions and general chit chat.

yeah he took a right wallop that day, hard to believe that is still an issue affecting him...Its these games I thought we would really need him most, what ever about the so called perceived weaker teams in the division.. Makes it all the more shocking that Rhode brought him on in the County Final. ...

Correct - I had forgotten about Rynagh's losing and staying on 11 points

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

Tight margins. Had Belmont beaten Birr by 3 points or more (and Belmont did lead by 3 late in the game) then they would have qualified for the semi-final at Kilcormac's expense. Didn't the head to head apply? As KK had beaten Belmont earlier in the group then Belmont needed to better their result. ...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers Championship Thread

AZ Offaly - I'll ask you the same question. Do you believe Wallace would be sacked if Offaly won on Sunday? I honestly don't know. If as some people have alluded to that Brian Gavin was doing the bidding of the CB then it makes sense that a plan was in place to get Wallace out, as things moved very...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers Championship Thread

AZ Offaly - I would probably have handled it immediately, by asking Stephen if that was him in the video. Straight question. And if it is, you have to get rid of him immediately And what if he denied it was him? After all he did appeal. I saw the video myself and I couldn't hand on heart be complet...

Re: Advancement from Group Stages Football

When was the last time neither Rhode, Tullamore, Clara, or Edenderry didn't appear in the final? Probably Ferbane against Gracefield from around about 1990. I remember I was about 15 minutes late into the game and it was already over as Ferbane led by something like 3-7 to 0-0. That was a cracking ...

Re: Clare looking for an Investigation!

I remember this happening first when Laois under Mick O'Dwyer played Offaly twice in 2003. He spoke on TV after one of the games - can't remember which - about how Laois hadn't been given any scoreable frees, as if they were entitled to a certain quota. He happily tacked on how "I don't rememb...
