Re: Byrne v Duignan

What are the pros and cons to the two men? On the face of it, what can be done by the chairman in reality. The level that Offaly find themselves at now are in my view not down to the holder of the chairmanship. For now, there are two good senior mgt teams at senior level. Hopefully success will com...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

They've started from scratch but there are actually 3 underage hurling teams in Edenderry in 2019 & you'd have to imagine that should grow to at least 4-5 next year. Someone suggested here a while back that this was done in order to get money but refused to clarify the comment. I've never heard of ...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

It goes to a proportional representation vote, with the lowest candidate being eliminated and their votes being transferred to the voters second preference. On another note, I'm just wondering why so many posters here are voting for one candidate and not the other? Thanks for the clarification. I w...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

Please do not link Byrne as the main figure behind Faithful Fields if the fundraising was not done which Duignan was a key part of it would of never happened it was a sub committee that can take the praise for that. A coup??? No matter what you try do to have change it's always called a coup when y...

Re: Byrne v Duignan

Feel free to merge it into the meeting in Tullamore. Thought that this would be worthy of its own thread with the poll. So as to avoid Russian interference, votes will only count once a person states voted in a post below. Feel free to say who you voted for, why you did so etc. Also, feel free to p...

Re: Thoughts on the Senior B Hurling final

Saturday will be one of the greatest days in Seir Kieran’s hurling story: contesting two adult finals. Think about that for a moment. A parish with fewer than 500 souls. It’s difficult enough for small clubs to have the numbers for a second team, the Clareen mens’ second team are in the Intermediat...

Re: Senior A Football 2019

Congratulations to Ferbane, who bridged a 25 year gap to become SFC champions today. Ferbane came good in the second half, with two Cian Johnson goals, and never looked back, beating Rhode by 2-13 to 0-14. Niall McNamee didn't start for Rhode, but came on in the second half, but couldn't save his te...

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

Hurling was destroyed when it went to OCP north offaly folk dont care about hurling.keep it in Birr for the better. now that's an ignorant comment. Didn't take long for the bile to emerge. Back to the 'high powered 'group. Have been speaking to people about this development. General consensus seems...

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

The arguments about where games get played is one issue. Personally I'd like to see certain league games and Walsh Cup games in Birr (and possibly elsewhere in Offaly), but championship matches and county finals should be in the premier county ground. The idea that leaving Birr in 2006 caused a dow...

Senior Hurling Finals have been held in Tullamore since at least 2009. Next Sunday's game will be there also.

Re: Senior A Football 2019

To say Clara lost their heads for a 10-15 minute spell in the first half would be an understatement.2 reds, 4 yellows and Brian Darby and Niall mc going off with head injuries. They completely lost it and game was over at that stage after conceding 2 goals within 7 minutes. Rhode played with Clara ...

Big win for Ferbane
They looked very good yesterday. Impressed with Cian Johston Oisin Kelly, and Joe Maher.
