Re: Offaly Hurling 2020

Only getting around to this query now. While Offaly and Westmeath share a lengthy boundary, the countys' respective traditional hurling areas don't border each other. Though in fairness, that might be changing now with Ballinamere-Durrow making a significant contribution. Westmeath's traditional hu...

Re: Minor Football

Does anyone know if the minor football and hurling finals are affected by the latest in the series of lockdowns? I think the finals will be cancelled because of the lockdown. It’s a pity after after so much progress at minor level. We will definitely know in the next few days. I hope 2021 is better...

Re: Club Managements

a cop or two on the Belmont squad probably opened up the door for Baker as he is guard in Tullamore, interesting to see how he does with Belmont, they have gone back a little on the form which almost got them over the line the last few years, be it this years championship was stop/start etc..proble...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2020

Offaly and Westmeath playing a Leinster MHC semi final in Mullingar. Closest Midlands Radio 3 are to covering it is playing the song Teenage Dirtbag on the radio. No joke. Poor. I noticed this in recent times (probably from lock down and trying to clutch onto something live going on around the plac...

Re: Minor Football

Super win today. It's a long time since I saw an Offaly team play with such passion and assurance. A very balanced team that is strong in all sectors, with some outstanding individuals. Still a lot to work on, such as shit selection. They can build on this and bring home a Leinster title. I’d say y...

Fennelly staying on. Goid move i feel. Winning the christy ring must happen.
Offaly must target promotion from Div. 2A, as well.

Westmeath defeated Dublin. Big chance for offaly to reach a final.
We have to get over Westmeath first. Be great to reach Leinster Final if we win the next day.

Colm is chairman of the GAA’s Community Development, Urban and Rural committee. It's an appointed role.

What role do you see him having at a national level?
Can’t name role, but I have heard him quoted in media. A check on GAA national officers should provide answer.

Re: Management committee

Colm Cummins is obviously an able candidate, who missed out on joining the executive last year. I think he has a national role with the GAA. This year he will be at the top table, it would have been more transparent if there was a contest with the incumbent. It appears in my view like an arrangement...

Good final for neutrals. My head says Limerick, but I would love to see Waterford win.

Dublin missing luke swan and a guy from Thomas Davis who are both excellent. It will be somewhat close.
Think Offaly will be without one, possibly two players for Saturday. Best of luck to players on Saturday. Pity we can’t be there.

Re: Should we stick with Michael Fennelly now?

Stay with Michael Fennelly. I don’t see an alternate candidate willing to take over. the problems in Offaly go beyond the manager. Personally I think speculating about changing managers is unhelpful, but the poster is entitled to his/ her opinion.

Re: All ireland hurling semi final

Interested in people's opinion on G heggerty tackle on Joe Canning, to me it was a red card but also he should have been yellow carded for persistent fouling also, he had at 8 fouls. Did K Hayes not run half the pitch with the ball in his hand?? Even a gillane tap on the Galway keeper could have be...
