Re: If you are withdrawing from the football manager job rac

Thought he'd manage Laois, the county of his ancestors?
I wonder if Offaly County Board would consider calling in the IMF?, think they would pull OCB into line!

Re: Junior A Football

Now that the Senior Final is over, any ideas on next Saturday's JFC Final between parish neighbours Daingean and Cappincur. Will Daingean finally deliver and capture the JFC title or will Cappincur's good form continue?

Re: Offaly Senior Hurling Club Championship 2011

Wow, that is some stat to say that birr have only been beaten 4 times in 10 years in championship hurling. It shows their consistency and ability to deal with the favorites tag very well. It also further highlights the achievement of tullamore to beat them in back to back knock out games. Final sho...

The Auld Shebeen in Mo' - I know it's in Wastemeath, but we need to occasionally enter badlands to remind our neighbours of our superiority!
That might be a case of the 'old hasbeens' in The Auld Shebeen'?

Re: Junior A Hurling

RYNAGH'S LOOKED THE BETTER HURLERS IN THE SECOND PERIOD OF THEIR GAME. KINNITTY'S 4 GOALS WERE CRUCIAL IN THE 2ND GAME, THEY SCORED EASIER THAN KILLEIGH WHO CRIIED THE BALL WHEN A LAY OFF TO A COLLEAGUE, OR SHOOT FOR A SCORE WOULD HAVE BEEN THE BETTER OPTION. KINNITTY'S EX SENIOR PLAYERS MADE THE DI...

Re: Clara vs Edenderry 9/10/11

EXCITING GAME TODAY, WITHOUT BEING A CLASSIC. AT HALF TIME IT SEEMED THAT CLARA WITH THE BREEZE WOULD TAKE THE GAME. EDENDERRY'S USE OF JOHNNY HURST AS SWEEPER AS SUB FOR MARK YOUNG WAS A MATCH WINNING MOVE. THEY NEUTRALIZED CLARA'S FORWARDS, AND MIGHT HAVE WON BY MORE. IT'S EDENDERRY V ATHY IN NEWB...

Re: Junior A Football

K/K 0-13 Ferbane 0-6 Looks like K/K might have notions of winning this yet. Bit of a late run by K/K. They could pull off the JFC. I was at this in the end. It actually was in Geashill after all. Apparently a large crowd ended up in Ballinamere before being diverted on to Geashill. Not good enough....

Re: Offaly County board what a joke!!!!

Seems hard to credit that the JFC final may be played after the time clocks go back, this competition plus the JHC and theIHC/IFC should be wrapped up this month. In fact we should be having our SFC/SHC finals this month also. Offaly's championship ended in June/July, and we are only at the Q/finals...

Re: Minor Championship

I remember seeing a St.Broughans/ Eire Og parish team playing in the Senior championship some year not so long ago. They were hammered the same night but they were allowed compete in senior. I don't recall any calls for Clonbullogue, Bracknagh or Walsh Island to disband to make way for the senior p...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Club Championship 2011

I have to agree with Concrete and Townman about last night's games. Ferbane missed 5 goal chances in total, a twice taken penalty, hit the post and the cross bar in the second half, and in the first half when the Rhode keeper dropped the ball, Ferbane couldn't finish the ball to the net. A lot of mi...

Re: Junior A Football

Tullamore have been awarded a walkover. Shamrocks cannot field a junior team. And are struggling to get a senior team together for Sunday due to injuries on top of the current absentees. Bad news about Shamrocks, last year's finalists, they may not be able to field a team in their remaining games, ...

Re: new football manager

I think Micko would be an interesting choice, what have we got to lose? A high profile name like that would get a huge response locally, and nationally, even the 1982 game would be thrown in the mix. Maybe some local benefactor might cover the expenses. Don't think a local manager would work though,...
