Re: 1996 Leinster Hurling Final
Was not present, but remember it reasonably well. The final scoreline did not reflect the battle that it was. The match was there in the melting pot for a long time. Recall Fitzhenry stood on his head and snuffed out multiple good goal chances that could have turned things in our favor. As an aside ...

Re: Maughan & O' Malley / Dunne & Maher
I agree with protecting a star minor maybe 17 or 18 for a year or two, but after that they are young men, Kerry are not "cladding" Clifford until 23/4/5..if he hadnt made it by that age in Kerry he would be history and we would all wonder what became of him...I know its a balancing act, but lordy m...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2020
Only getting around to this query now. While Offaly and Westmeath share a lengthy boundary, the countys' respective traditional hurling areas don't border each other. Though in fairness, that might be changing now with Ballinamere-Durrow making a significant contribution. Westmeath's traditional hu...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2020
Hi POTH,
Can you expand on this a bit?
'Westmeath v Offaly is a local derby for Westmeath, but not for Offaly.'
Interested to understand the context/perspective.
Many thx.

Imagine the excitement if we were told last year that our minor footballers would play the same day as the Senior All Ireland?
Go git 'em!!!

Re: Offaly Hurling 2020
The match between kildare and wicklow was on a par with maybe Rynaghs vs BIrr league match. Handy enough, but not intercounty. Very slow pace, loads of time on the ball and no urgency usually associated with top level hurling. No disrespect to either rynaghs or birr by the way!!!!. You can actually...

Re: DIV 3 NFL predictions and general chit chat.
Any chance of us lining out with ruairi mcnamee Anton Sullivan panda Niall mcnamee and Cian Johnson all starting? All great forwards who can get a score and for the opposition which one do you man mark? I know it’s unlikely but why not? What have we got to lose Who knows, but I like the idea of our...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2020
Grumbling in Kerry because Offaly v Antrim will be played after Kerry play their final game. But there is NO stipulation that each team play their final round of games simultaneously. (That would never work if there was an odd number of teams in a group.) That, and Antrim presumably have accommodat...

I'd be excited if we did and I will be a difficult match, but I would not be 'shocked'. This division is tight.Fairplayalways wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2020 1:29 pmrealistically can we beat Down next weekend for starters do you think?

Thanks for this.DoingUntold wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 7:01 pmNeed to bear in mind that Meath had two lads sent off in the game V Antrim today early enough so I wouldn't over analyse it
Was occasionally watching the scores while working. Saw Antrim putting up a big score. It really caught my attention.
