Re: Fall from grace and the importance of next manager.

I think you might have the cart before the horse there. I would say the bigger more succesful counties have home grown managers because they are more likely to produce more individuals inhouse with thw ability and experience. I dont think they are more succesful because they have a home grown manag...

Re: Fall from grace and the importance of next manager.

GOOD POST jolly roger. you make sum good points about the spirit lacking in offaly in recent times. With the wealth of hurlers and footballers and all ireland winners in counties like cork , kilkenny , kerry it isnt hard too find managers with a few all ireland medals and they all want a shot at suc...

Re: Offaly footballers' missed opportunity

Same could nearly be said for the hurlers too. Beaten by two very soft goals and frees against Waterford could of set us up with a appetising Quarter Final against Wexford. Thought Waterford could of been better yesterday and anyone could of taken Wexford. Avoiding Kilkenny then for an All Ireland ...

Re: Another day, another dollar and another heavy defeat at the

During the year there was a noteable divergence between the ways the senior and under 21’s were approaching their matches, largely because the under 21’s were more adept at catching the ball. During the two recent qualifier matches the senior management placed their two best hurlers at midfield whe...

Re: Next Manager

offaly has a junior team to cater for those players . and i think it would be fairly easy for an above average player to stand out at that level, but to bypass senior club level and into a senior county panel would have to be a unique talent. i am afraid it shud be senior county for senior players ...

Ollie Daly was wheeling his shopping trolley across Tesco car park when he noticed an old lady struggling with her shopping. He stopped and asked, "Can you manage dear?" to which the old lady replied, "No way, you got yourself into this mess, don't ask me to sort it out!" :mrgre...

Re: Next Manager

Ok experts who's the man for the football job?? I'm going with Luke Dempsey, He's an intelligent guy, experienced at county level, knows the offaly scene and he brought Westmeath and Longford from nowhere to decent competitors. I just dont think Darby or Connor are up to it and O'Reilly is a bit yo...
