Re: Byrne v Duignan

Joy Troy rightfully weighing in last night on Twitter regarding the upcoming contest for chairman after the Tribune allowed Byrne to tarnish his name without right to reply. I cannot understand how people can support Tommy Byrne and I find it unfathomable that he will more than likely win the upcom...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

ridiculous assigning April to "club month" and yet here we only have 2 rounds of SHC early in the month (completed Sunday 7th April) and then nothing more until July..Joe McDonagh or not its either club month or not, and for all counties...we have is it 12 Senior Clubs, loads of games whi...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers Championship Thread

In fairness to the county board lads (and I would be first to criticize), the facts are fairly clear: 1. Wallace is suspended from all team activity for 12 weeks including training during the most important part of the season. 2. Plenty of the current players liking tweets criticizing the management...

Re: 2018 NHL

This was is 2011.. Brian Caroll and Dooley played wing forwards all year.. Dooley was the free taker and got sent off in semi final.. Dooley was 25 doing a post grad and a mature student.. Carroll was 28 (with 10 years inter county experience)and I think he was lecturing in UL. Gerathys are 23 and ...

Re: 2018 NHL

That was my point Munster GAA, Munster Board with Munster scolarships.. Leinster GAA give scolarships but there is only two colleges at Fitzgibbon level and limits the choice. There are 5 Leinster representatives in this years fitzgibbon! DCU, Trinity, DIT, UCD and IT Carlow. True, there are a numb...

Re: 2018 NHL

In reply to the discussion on UL fitzgibbon. I watch a lot of games at that level and know a few lads involved. Training and commitment also needs to be factored in. From what I saw last year, neither Geraghtys were good enough. Either were Quirke and David King in years prior to that. There is not ...

Re: 2016 Offaly Club Draws

Great to see people predicting the death of hurling in Gracefield, never gave a walk over in championship last year and only 1 league game was forfeited due to a number of players away. Had a panel down in Brosna Gaels last week of 22 players with 3 players missing, one of the youngest squads we eve...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

Your anti birr and that's a fact, you will Doctor the numbers to suit.all the senior hurling clubs, reps and players around Offaly want the hurling back in birr.i will turn a blind eye to your ignorance of the fact that you have probably never hurled on either pitch.birr is a better hurling field.. I...

Re: What are they smoking in Birr?

it just shows how uneducated the players are so really doesn't it if this is the best they can come up with. (again the same players that 3 months ago thought their manager was excellent and one of the best they had trained under!) Birr think they have the players and the players think they are goo...

We are getting a raw deal in Gracefield, been in navan and new Ross in recent weeks, yet there are no issues with grass banks in those fields, different rules for different counties.
