Group 2 will not be as easy for Clara as some think. As LS already stated, Clara-Ferbane games are generally very tight affairs. The local derby with Tubber will almost certainly provide drama and no lack of intensity. Thats not forgetting St. Rynaghs, who didn't lie down in front of Clara last yea...

Ross Brady denied transfer

Apparently Ross Brady has been denied transfer back to Clara by Croke Park. An appeal is likely, but one wonders why our own county executive couldnt just back it here in the first place. hmmm, perhaps the influence of sponsors...............

Offaly Club football

Well, some are back in training, some are starting, some have management in place, others are looking at "dream team" combinations, some "big" names have turned down jobs, and rumours abound. So on with the questions? Can Rhode do it again? Will Clara step up this year (will Ross...

oh "Roe" is me, "Roe" is me, does that mean we'll all have to "Roe in behind the lads" , cant wait to hear Laois fans singing "reject, reject" next year  All slagging aside though, I do wish the guy well and hope he puts together a good back room team to...

Yeah, Clara should (rightly) interpret this as Rhode perceiving themselves as being above talking to the media. That being in a county is a nuisance rather than an honour. That they are keeping half an eye on Leinster and couldn't be bothered with the formalities surrounding a county final. That th...

Meanwhile the papers have been told that no-one will be talking to them, no player is to be contacted, no member of the management team will be speaking either, but neither is it to be reported that this is happening. I can see how this is not an "official" media ban all right. This is so...

Re: Rhode's Media Ban

just heard from a contact in the Rhode squad, that there is no "official" media ban in place.

The players have been told that if they dont want to speak to media then they dont have to.

Re: Rhode's Media Ban

I've no doubt I'll get another perspective on this from the Rhode contingent here, but anyway ...... Some of you may remember that last year Rhode imposed a media ban in the run up to the county final. No member of the panel, selectors or committee was allowed speak to the press at a time when obvi...

Re: Clara /Shamrocks

Excellent result today. An excellent match played hard and fair. Now that the cars parked, more pints to follow and must remember to book off October 9th!! Shamrocks were too full sure of today’s match and paid the price. Clara made a lot of errors but did play well. They are young and the last 2 g...

My understanding is that Pat Roe and Paddy Carr are the two that are being considered, though I've no idea if there are any more in the frame yet, or whether it's too late for a fresh face to get involved. This comes with the usual purple monkey dishwasher disclaimer. Papers say Pat Roe, current of...
