Re: Deleted Thread

DD, presuming you are a tax payer does it not make you a bit angry to think he is indirectly taking your tax money, which is supposed to be a reward for his hard work, and drinking it down the pub on the Wednesday night of a big Championship match? I'm definitely not impressed with his carry on if ...

Re: Deleted Thread

Some people have axes to grind on the grants issue and it's going completely off the point. The bottom line is unless a poster is willing to give his or her name/address etc when they are posting about a individuals private matters, it shouldn't be allowed. Would the Offaly Indo or Express for examp...

Re: Deleted Thread

I think it should be removed unless posters are willing to give their own names and validate their details with the administrator, then any accusations can be credited directly to a poster. Once a persons name is mentioned and they are accused of something you're (meaning the forum) in dodgy territo...

Re: Who next?

The problem with that is we had such a man, with exactly that plan, and the supposed blessing of the county board to carry it out. What happened? He had a decent year (a great one by our standards at the moment), blooded youngsters like Niall McNamee, and then had to suffer the ignomony of being ha...

Re: Who next?

The problems with Offaly football won't go away by changing managers though. They will eventually if it's the right man, and if there's a complete change of climate, attitude and thinking. Which is why it's so important that the right manager gets the job, gets rid of lads who aren't trying and get...

Re: Pat Roe steps down

Hang on now lads. It's only two minutes ago that Roe was totally responsible for our footballing woes and indeed everything bad in the world.. now a lot of you are almost absolving him and blaming the players completely. Yeah, we all know Saturday was a disgrace but this is a culmination of various ...

Re: Michael Haverty

I'd never be confident that every spectator is accounted for in the attendance and that every penny paid is handed over. There was an official attendance of 2600 in Tullamore yesterday evening. I'll leave other posters here who were in attendance to make of that what they will. Would there have bee...

Re: Fixture Clash this Saturday

The sensible thing to do would be to push out our hurling qualifier until Saturday week. The Q-Finals are scheduled for July 27th and the Semi's for Aug 10th (Kilkenny) & Aug 17th (Tipp) so there are options in there if any replays are needed. Ya that makes a lot of sence, have the winners of O...

Re: Super!

Anyone know the arrangement for the next hurling qualifiers? Is it nuetral venues or a draw out of the hat for home or away?
What's the chances of a double header in Tullamore if we get a home draw against Waterford or Galway? Jaysus that would be some occasion.. feck of all chance of I'd say though.

A great performance that would make your heart swell with pride. We showed fantastic determination, fitness and no little skill. There was a great mix of the traditional Offaly hurling with the best of the modern running/posession game too. Man for man we won every contest around the pitch and when ...

Re: todhchai tarraingteach? (a rosy future?)

I agree that it is worthwhile trying to start very early with the talented kids. Firstly, that is what you have to recognise, i.e. that some kids just have to have the "talent" to start off with. You cant teach that; it just has to be there. You cant talk tactics to any age under 12. What...
