Re: "Defeat" of the proposed rules change.
I know what you're saying about freeing up the game but I don't think getting rid of the handpass altogether is the answer. Maybe something like no more than two handpasses in a row or something would work. Giving a player a chance to work some space and then deliver a clever ball?? Agreed, like ev...

Re: Who will you be cheering for in the Heineken Cup semi?
What he said.... Not the worlds biggest rugby fan, but seeing lads going around locally wearing Munster jerseys is ridiculous. Leinster is my province. We all want to win a GAA Leinster Championship, we had tee-shirts years ago with "Munster hurling, me arse!" so why support Munster Rugby ...

Sorry,...I'm not a gambler,... never took to it. Just don't see any logic in it.

Offaly v Louth NFL
All been a bit quiet lately, seeing as this tester is upon us. Tricky game this I feel. The players have had a couple of weeks with little or no press/media to bother them, and they should have gotten on with the work. Lets' see what they've got.
Sunday, Tullamore 2.30pm I believe.

Re: How to treat a match like Kerry
Anyone involved in college hurling should be excused, then you pick a team of maybe 10-12 regulars and use the subs well. You need some form of consistency between games.

Re: League Football Round Up
I see this year it's now 4 Divisions, unlike last year's 5. This gives teams more games. We had 7 league games last year, this year we will have 11. Plenty of football between now and championship.

Re: League Football Round Up
Clara V Tullamore looks the pick of the bunch this weekend, as both lost last week. I know it's not huge priority right now, but teams don't like going on a losing streak.....

Re: Cribben gets the job
There was never going to be a 'big' name new manager at this stage,... and there was no chance of Darby taking over. None..Zero..forget about it!! What we got is a decent guy with a decent track record who will give it everything, but it's more down to the best 30 players in this county to prove to ...

Re: County Under 21 football championship
Shamrocks V St. Colemans is on Sunday 11.30am in Mucklagh is what I heard. That will be 3 games in a week.. I know they are young fit lads, but it's still a lot to ask. The physios were working flat out at the replay on Tuesday night trying to keep players going in extra time.

Re: County Under 21 football championship
Once again I have to say that the absence of any definitive fixture list or anything is a real shame. Assuming Clara are due to play Manchans at some stage this weekend that game would be no more than a fifteen minute drive away and yet there's no info as to where or when it's on. Madness. I've bee...

Re: 2009 Fixtures?
Why is it we have to keep going to the Offaly Express website to get the most up-to-date fixtures list because they are not listed on the Offaly Co. board site? They have the master list and next weeks list..... what's on the GAA site ?? nothing! The whole world doesn't revolve around 30 prima-donna...

Re: Westmeath v Offaly, NHL, 15/02/09
The 'second tier' in Leinster has been very competitive over the last few years. Westmeath being the better, and improvements from Meath, Kildare, etc. Anything but a focused performance will see an embarrassing outcome in this one.

Re: Offaly v Longford
Not so positive as the lads above. I'm happy with the 3 lads who are in charge but a lot more has to come from the players, as they were the ones who walked away or wanted the manager out. Now fame costs, and here's where they start paying. Glen Ryan's Longford, although short a couple of better pla...
