Re: Offaly Minor hurling 2014

Is it Meath or Wexford next for us?

Laois are in the semi's and so are Dublin who hammered KK. KK play Carlow in the back door.

Re: Leinster Senior Hurling Offaly V Galway

Haven't left Croke Park with such pride since 2000 semi-final. Memories of our last match there still haunt me. Well done to the lads and thanks for giving us back some pride.

Re: LSHC 30th May Offaly v Antrim Parnell Park 3:30pm

Tis none other than Michael 'Smokey' McDonagh. Originally a Galway man I believe, but has been settled in Offaly for a good number of years now and is a naturalised Offalian. Fair play to him he never misses a match, come hail, rain or shine and whatsmore is that he wears that jersey continually even i...

Re: WHERE NOW FOR JOE DOOLEY

Agree totally with black & red exile. It was mentioned earlier that we can't afford a Loughnane or a English. In my opinion, we can't not afford them. If we keep going to way we are, there won't be anyone going to the matches. Of the 8k there on Saturday, were there 5k from Offaly? We need someo...

Re: Féile 2009

The Féile organisers said there were too many brown areas on the pitch. There are 101 different stories going around, but imho, they put too much clay on it at the start and there isn't enough drainage. It's going on for years now. I'd say after the 14 hours of continuous rain last night, we might b...

Re: GAA, GPA and Gov. Reach Agreement.

Here we go again. The same people who lambasted the GAA for even thinking of not opening up Croke Park will jump on this one biig time. "Look at all the money the Grab All Associtaion have made from rugby and soccer", "look at the crowds at an All Ireland final", blah, blah, blah...

Re: Féile 2009

Féile finals moved from Birr to Tullamore because of the pitch. Very disappointed people here.

Re: Brian Whelahan to run for Fine Gael

B na M man, agreed re. Alan Loughnane. He would knock Michael "Stroke" Fahy into a cocked hat. I believe he wanted to put the thick back into politics and the mental back into fundamentalism. Great result for FF in Birr. The Cowen effect did work, although it could be argued they were comi...

Re: 2009 Leinster Fixtures

kinnittyman, I would have loved to sing the Rover with you after the nightclub, but the hotels are acting the b0llix down there. Most want you to book for 2 nights and the ones that don't are charging through the roof. I can't afford that in my present situation.

Re: New Jerseys Please - A call to all Fans

As someone who has a lock of Offaly jerseys, I don't think it's too bad. Better than the one with the gold stripe across the top some years ago. Why did they change the logo from the sort of traingle one with a hurler and footballer, to this new one which is basically "GAA" in a specific f...

Re: Uibh Fhaili Support

A man in his 30's ran about 5 yards over to my mate to give him the finger after they scored the second goal. Another man was there with his 2 kids. The 8 year old daughter had to tell her father to shut up because of the abuse he was throwing. Lovely example being set. The Blaaaaa's on afr are admi...
