Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Thanks to substandard for the best reply posted here. I am also distanced from the Offaly environment now for many years, and I know I’m so lucky to be able to remember the Glory Days. I’m happy to accept lower levels these days. Was yesterday’s result just an aberration? A freak? We’ve been better ...

Double Header not happening.
U20 Final fixed for Thurles on Sunday 4th June at 3 pm, following a Minor game that might also include Cork.
JMD Final v Carlow is on Saturday 27th May at 4:45 pm in Croke Park.

Terrible news to hear this last night. My sincere condolences to his family and friends.
Also to the Offaly team and staff who have been working with him most recently.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2022
Terribly disappointing day yesterday. There was a sizable Offaly support that travelled down; Wexford would probably be disappointed with their own following so just goes to prove that Hurling is their big focus. Offaly looked like a small team against some big men. Despite that, we must have broke ...

Re: U20 "22
First - its good to see that most/all of the posts above are positive and supporting of the U20 team's performance last night. That is what is needed more than ever in Offaly, that we encourage the good green shoots when we have them. Second - it was a good performance overall, still playing nice at...

Leinster Football Championship 2022
We have drawn to play Wexford first (at home). If we can negotiate that hurdle, then it will be the Dubs. https://www.rte.ie/sport/gaa/2021/1127/1263526-2022-championship-mayo-and-galway-set-to-meet/ I think the Qualifiers are back to the "old" format for next year, which generally favours...

Re: O'Connor Park lease debacle
I recall that McHale Park in Castlebar is also owned by the local club. According to the "irrefutable" authority of Wikipedia (in fairness, it references the Western People newspaper), in 2005, the County Board agreed a 50 Year Lease on the stadium before embarking on their Upgrade work. N...

Re: Offaly vs Louth 2021 Leinster Football Championship
We made harder work of that than I was hoping or expecting. However, we learned how to take our goal chances and got our just desserts in the end. Big well done to the Offaly team. Lots of players got a run (or a couple of sessions) today and did quite well. I did not think that starting Niall would...

Re: Div 3 South predictions & general comment
Some interesting team changes. It will make for an interesting comparison with the last performance, and to see who actually finishes the game.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2020
We cant even reach the Final of Christy Ring Cup (3rd Tier).
If dropping down to this level was hoped to be an aberration last year, not bouncing back is the proof of our level. Can we accept that?

Re: Offaly V Kildare 2nd round of LSFC
Great showing by most of the team so far, but I'm not going to single out any names yet. Kildare heads could drop when they see their own wastage. Keep it up lads. We CAN win this.
Mawn Offaly.

Re: DIV 3 NFL predictions and general chit chat.
I agree that the 2020 All-Ireland series should be cancelled. This year will have a big *Asterisk* against it (if not in the record books but certainly in people's minds) no matter what the outcome of any games are. Club matches were a risk to play too, but did not involve as much travel and the gro...

Re: Byrne v Duignan
If he has Donal Óg Cusack annoyed enough to be throwing swipes, then Michael must be doing something right. It's always good to be annoying those Cork Rebels. I'm taking it as a good sign that Michael is prepared to speak up on behalf of the Clubs too.
