It was a savage team.

Were intermediate for a few years and struggling and decided to go Junior in 1996. Won the junior in ferbane that year and were intermediate since.

Given that team would have beaten Louth in the Leinster final in 1960, I thought it wouldhave been easy enough to find some pictures somewhere of the team or even the programme for the Leinster Final day. But the old interweb doesnt do 1960 it appears!

Walsh Island- Richie Connor Not sure on this one

Id say Alan Comerford was the player that dragged WI up from Junior to Intermediate and without him in the 90's before going to America, WI would have been Junior for a long time after.

Yep its 13 a side stateside. 2 full backs and 2 full forwards. He played wing back for a while with them before switching to midfield. He always played midfield for walsh island and was played in the forwards for offaly. He played well against dublin that year also.

McAnespies Senior team in Boston (Current Boston Champions) are in the final again this year. Gary Comerford has been playing midfield for these for the past few years and seems to be solid as a rock for them. I wonder how he would perform in the Green White and Gold if he could be persuaded to come...
