Re: Laois v Offaly – Leinster Hurling Quarter Final 7th Ju
Fair play to the Offaly supporters and online posters who have been gracious, the well wishes are appreciated. The pre match analysis by PotH in particular was eerily accurate, and as I stated on our own forum had Keenan not nailed those long range free's who knows how the match may have turned, tho...

Re: Laois v Offaly – Leinster Hurling Quarter Final 7th Ju
A valid point bracknaghboy, either county lettin' on that the pressure is on the other is like two bald men fighting over a comb. There is big pressure on both sides, for different reasons. I firmly believe that Laois are capable of winning if they perform for the full game, but they haven't come an...

Re: Liam Dunne vs. Michael Duignan
I admired Dunne as a player that could really hurl when he wanted but I'd have zero time for him as a manager. Comparing the thuggery that Wexford put on in that Dublin game to the three reds Clare players received v Wexford is embarrassingly stupid. Two were extremely foolish incidents of frustrati...

Re: offaly minor hurlers 2015
I will never forgive the Laois folk for introducing Townman to the gaaboard at the time LaoisTalk ceased. Gaaboard was a Townman free zone prior to then. Laois may have a lot to answer for, but ya can't lay Townman on our doorstep PotH, he's yers to keep! I've lost track of his user names on differ...

Re: Antrim v Laois, Leinster SHC, Sunday 3rd May
On today's viewing (Laois v Carlow) it will almost certainly be Westmeath ye are playing, and it will probably be a tougher test for ye too. Laois were 11 up and cruising, tried to hold that lead instead of increasing it and if a last minute free that was lobbed into the square produced a goal Laois...

Re: offaly minor hurlers 2015
Ye're very quiet about this one lads which makes me nervous! Weather seems to be clearing up, so hopefully we'll have a cracker like last year and may the best team win.

Good man. Considering ye couldn't win the A-I in 2013 with every ref under the sun doing all they could for ye I'd keep the mouth shut!Turenne wrote:Congrats lads, now if every team that plays Offaly plays the match with 14 men you'll win the AI.

Well done lads. Not the result I wanted to hear (in terms of Laois pipping ye into a qtr final spot) but that's a brilliant scalp to take.

Re: Leix v Offaly, NHL, Saturday February 14th 2015
Excellent piece PotH. As a Laois man myself you have nailed a lot of my fears going into this match. In the last month alone Laois have showed what they are capable of, both the good and the bad. They comfortably beat a Wexford side that hurled fairly well themselves on the day, but then had a real ...

Re: 2015 Walsh cup
Sam I think you ignoring the massive gap between club and county hurling. K/K are a very fine club side, they play as very driven unit and rinse every last drop of ability they have, but it could be argued that they don't have one bona fide inter county standard player. They have an abundance of exc...

Re: Offaly Minor hurling 2014
townman you are mistaken if you think true Laois hurling supporters want to see the demise of Offaly hurling. We have suffered some gut wrenching defeats to Offaly down the years so it's only natural we will enjoy a few wins over ye! Also I don't think it's a matter of opinion that we have better un...

Re: Offaly Minor hurling 2014
Don't think this years Laois minors are as strong as last years. We have four lads under age off the starting 15 that played ye last year (Ryan Mullaney, Evan Cuddy, Aidan Corby and John Lennon) compared to Offaly having 9 starters from that day. Throw in a home venue for Offaly and the obvious moti...

Guiney at Centre Forward is huge worry after last week against Laois. Guiney is a lot better than anyone Laois had last week. Ah enough already Toxicity! Offaly supporters have been gracious in defeat to Laois bar yourself. Ye were beat fair and square on the day, there's no need for your petty and...

Re: Leinster club hurling and football 2013
K/K with the -4 handicap looks a very good bet for the weekend. Camross won a lot of admirers in Laois throughout the year with some really gutsy displays, but they don't have enough quality players to push K/K like Rathdowney/Errill did last year. Unlike Camross teams of the past who were famed for...
