Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
A emotional day … Credit to players and management for the huge improvement this year. Definitely Johnny Kelly and his team deserve another year. So many players hurling as well as they ever have, I’m thinking of Ben (has to be in the running for an All Star now), Ross Ravenhill, Eoghan Cahill. And ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Strongest possible team named. So many of the u20s of a couple of years ago making the step up to senior in their stride, it’s another good opportunity for Colin Spain to be the next one to make a breakthrough alongside his u20 midfield partner. His touch was a bit off in the Kilkenny game (eg ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Eoghan was probably our man of the match yesterday, Ben and Killian were immense as well. We didn’t start well, but benefited from some poor shooting by Wexford, and I thought we started to get to grips with the game in the last 10-15m of the first half.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Agree, there is no place for any sort of hype here. I wouldn’t even mention a Leinster final or an All-Ireland quarter final yet. The important thing about a win on Saturday is that it means we are safe from a last day relegation fight against Kildare. Win and we can play with freedom on the last ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Midfield was poor alright, and you could also argue a lot of our forwards were held from play for long periods (eg Charlie, Eoghan, Conor Doyle), but everyone kept working like demons. Great to have the Offaly roar back at a big senior match, we even got a few seconds of Ua Fhaile at the end! The ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
A big performance from our lads today, and let’s be honest, it could have been a lot better. We gifted Kilkenny a lot of scores with our own mistakes and often when when in possession.
On the last 65 I was convinced in real time it came off the Kilkenny defender. One way or other, a draw was the ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
The team has a definite look of not risking any of the injured players. Sights may be already set on the Wexford match as a priority, its will shape our season, whether fighting for third place or fighting against relegation vs Kildare. Still, getting something from Sunday’s game would be a real ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Big win incoming from Kilkenny here, 13 points up on 69 mins. Wexford look very beatable. Stop Lee Chin and you’re half way there.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Sensible team selection by management. Hoping for a competitive game from our lads. Let’s bring the attitude and workrate from the last day for a start and see where that takes us. Galway looking formidable, in the top 3 I’d say with Limerick and Cork.

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Made the trip up with my son and daughter from Borris in Carlow, they’re both Carlow hurling through and through, and at the age they’re at now they love slagging me, but they were shouting as loud as anyone for Offaly by the end last night. The application and honesty from our lads was outstanding ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026
Saw Dublin a few weeks ago and I think it’s very important we push up on them and don’t give them the short puc out option. They’re very good at working it out and support running, that’s their game, so I think our forwards need to work like dogs and make everything into a right battle.
