Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
We'd be better off in Portlaoise. They have a dreadful home record but never too bad in Tullamore. We should be a good bit better than them. Pass me some of that good stuff you're smoking. WTF??? We should be a good bit better than them? Told ye. They are a terrible team who were damn lucky we didn...

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
If Laois were a bit more clinical/efficient, they'd certainly be a tough proposition.
I'm still convinced we'll have enough for them. Our backs are a good bit better than Leitrim's and our forwards will surely test them a bit more than today's effort.

Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Still think we'll have the measure of Limerick and Wicklow.
Sligo will be a massive game too.
I expect us to stay up (fully accepting that we should be capable or more than that).

20 something wides. Something very bad unforced wides included. We were probably slightly the better team but Carlow got the breaks.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Twas worth getting a beating like that today just for the level of whinging from across the Barrow.
The final will be a handy win.

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
I can't believe our county chairman wasn't at the game today but instead was co-commentator on the hurling game in Nowlan Park.
I don't think that's acceptable at all.

Isn't Tailteann Cup on a group basis? Meaning more than a minimum of two games left?

I was told Flanagan hadn't fully agreed to the Bracks job and when The Sash came calling, he saw it as a better opportunity, not necessarily better "terms and conditions".

Re: Tullamore parentage motion
Won't this work both ways though? I know that just across the Barrow from me in Laois, you can declare for, or transfer to, your parent's home club and it doesn't get in to too much detail about length of membership or anything either. Quite a few young lads then start out with, or move to, their da...

Re: Proposed change to age grades at both county and club level
I would agree that there should be U18 club competition and even cut off U18's playing adult club level bar U20 or U21. Most small clubs are depending on a few 18 year olds coming though each year to bolster their numbers at adult level. If you tell a lad turning 18 in January/February in a particu...

Re: Proposed change to age grades at both county and club level
I'm glad we are staying as is. It's the best of a bad set of choices.
Westmeath apparently are voting to raise minor age to under 18 and decouple minor from adult meaning you will have 18 and 19 year olds at the start of a year who have never played adult hurling or football.
