I was at the game and certainly Clare's physical strenght was a major factor. The terrible weather conditions probably suited the more powerful Munster side as they would very much remind me as being very similar to Armagh footballers in being very direct with getting the ball into the full forward ...

Kevin Corrigan please shut up.

As I read the Tullamore Tribune this evening I nearly choked on my tea and fig roll biscuits when Offaly's NO 1 sports journalist Kevin Corrigan wrote a very sarcastic and totally unfair piece[ in his man behind the wire column] about normally loyal football followers, as he puts it ''deserting the ...

Jesus, this one is going to go to the wire with ourselves and Monaghan both seeing this game as a lifesaver when the fixtures first came out. I would give us a hesitant vote on the basis that according to the national papers Monaghan seem to be riddled with injuries, and coupled with home advantage ...

Help- Ennis or Tullamore.

A big problem next Sunday lads,im looking for guidence. As a dedicated fan who travels Ireland watching our hurlers and footballers im pulling my hair out in frustration in trying to decide whether to head to Ennis or Tullamore in what is going to be a very important day for our two senior teams for...

Yeah this old site won't be the same with you gone across the pond LS. Its a bit like a ship losing its captain. Who is going to put manners on the few of us who get just a little bit over excited over certain issues concerning our county and club teams in 2006? On a serious tone, the very best of l...

Ok it was only the O'Byrne cup semi final, but its nice to beat our next door neighbours whether its football, hurling or snakes and ladders. It can only do the lads the world of good to get competitive games under their belts before a very tough and rigorous League campaign begins on Feb 5th. Great...

You are absolutely spot on LS, I know quite a few Kilkenny people and they seem to take great pride in the fact that their county is purely a hurling stronghold and that football is an alien sport down there. It smacks of arrogance and its incredible how they are allowed get away with not having a f...

A very informative and accurate report Bogman. I too was at the match and I would certainly concur with the fact that everyone did well but to be quite honest my auntie Margaret would have played well yesterday, the standard of opposition was to say the least [non existant]. Thankfully Louth will be...

Interesting point ''Bog Man''quite a few counties seem to go down this path around new year, I know there is one in kildare also, but I'm not sure how the are named on the day. Perhaps a half decent idea could be our county champions playing our county team which of course in Rhode's case would mean...

Yes Hyper, Offaly were down to play at home but Kilkenny asked for the game to be played at a Kilkenny venue. Offaly agreed to this request providing it is played at Nowlan park only, and not off out at the back of nowhere.

Yes, a very frank and honest interview and I'm glad he has spoken out about the know it alls who seemed to pick on him about everything that went wrong with our failings last year. As I've pointed out on this site a while ago[ our best player by a mile] suffered desperate criticism by every Billy or...

The game is still on, we're at home, I think its O'Connor park, although I heard a rumour it could very well be in Gracefield. The venue will definitly be confirmed tonight [Tuesday 3rd Jan]. I dont think the team is selected yet, it will probably be the end of the week or on Sunday before its known...

As a supporter who travels the lenght and breath of Ireland watching our footballers and hurlers, I am very excited about our senior hurlers for 2006. I have a feeling that they are going to surprise quite a few people before this year is out. Fitness certainly won't be a problem with the panel back...

Many happy returns'' Man from Ferbane''. Lets hope by this time next year our footballers and hurlers will have given us plenty to shout about and for Gracefield to beat Ferbane in the county final next September.
