Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
This is going to be a fantastic occasion. Surely we will get a huge crowd into our home ground. The ultimate litmus test is against the Cats and this years u20 side are a good crop of theirs. Without Ravenhill its going to be a struggle given Kilkenny sides imperious ball winning ability. Hopefully ...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Great to hear that Leon Fox is back in I think he has a lot to offer.
Does anyone have any idea of any other new players who have gone in?

Re: Offaly Senior A Hurling Championship 2023
The difference in standards of hurling in both counties was on show today. O'Loughlins had the ability to work the ball through the lines with neat stick-work in testing heavy conditions while K/K simply couldn't get a foothold in the game. The Kilkenny outfit came out of scraps with the ball more o...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Cannot wait for this one. Yet again, regardless of the result, this team has inspired a generation of children from Offaly. Do we have any word on injuries? Are Miller and Rigney available for selection? I'm really looking forward to seeing how all of our forwards light it up this Sunday - we really...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
We have made a marked improvement giving that we dispatched of Kerry by 11 having only played in fits and starts. Fantastic progress by the team but only one step in the process. Im normally not one to slate referees but I thought today's officiating performance was up there with the worst I've seen...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Team - Championship 2023
Great win. Excellent to see lads putting their bodies on the line for the jersey and running themselves into the ground which is all we can ask for. We looked a bit nervy at times but that's to be expected as lads are growing in experience. Good variety of scorers, we defended as a unit and midfield...

Re: U20 hurlers 23
Did enough tonight to get the win. We hit a good few wides which would have been frustrating but hopefully accuracy will be more on point in the quarter final. Very impressed with Conor Doyle and Rigney. Both have great work rate and pace and well able to take scores. In the backs I thought Mahon wa...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
A decent showing today. A win is a win as they say Disappointing to only shoot 1.4 in the second half against 14 men when the game opened up but in saying that, fatigue must be starting to set in after so many games in a row. Disappointing nonetheless. Positives - Burke is really growing in confiden...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2023
Not a lot to say about the fixture venue other than it's a mixture of desperation from Kildare to eek out a result, and also a reflection of where hurling really stands in the county. They want to make this as scrappy as possible and obviously had fears that any other half decent venues wouldn't sel...

Re: NFL Div 3 predictions 2023
A couple of observations from the league and today: Yet again our physicality let us down. We're going to have to unearth some more imposing players somewhere. Every intercounty footballer should be able to take a score from the 'scoring zone' regardless of the number on their back in the modern gam...

Re: Club Football Championship 2022
A hard watch yesterday . For Tullamore, they will be disappointed. I thought they really lacked penetration apart from Moloney. Brazil had an off day which is unusual for him. They have all the talent but just didn't get going at all. I wonder with a lack of experience and the favourites tag, did th...

Re: League & Championship hurling 2022
It's hard to see anything but a Kilcormac/Killoughey win in a couple of weeks time. Shinrone were disappointing for most of the game on Sunday but it just goes to show that if you can hang in games, you stand a chance. I think Belmont have to be considered a top 4 team now and really have to push on...

Re: Club Football Championship 2022
I missed the Ferbane v Clara game but it sounds like I chose the wrong game to attend. Edenderry v Shamrocks was very poor fare. Edenderry overall had a better balanced team, despite being without Abbott and Cian Farrell both of whom are excellent footballers. Jordan Hayes is a joy to watch when he ...

Re: Minors hurlers 2022
What is there to say only that the entire team were absolutely exceptional - the biggest game of their lives, in a cauldron of 25,000 people and they put in the most impressive performance to date against a very strong Tipp outfit. What more can we ask for - was very proud to be from Offaly yesterda...

Re: Minors hurlers 2022
Hopefully the GAA have got this right and everyone is able to make it into the ground safely on Sunday. It really shows how this young team have captured the imagination of the county and massive credit must go to our county board who have got so much right and worked with clubs to get young people ...
