Re: Offaly Senior Footballers 2024
Yea, could interpret that in diff ways. Possibly a lot of work too in getting homecoming run off successfully. I'm sure there was lot of work involved in that. The footballers have their team secretary and volume of work needed there would be less than in Tullamore today. That said, point taken and...

Re: Declan Kelly
Will be a small crowd in Breffni Park today.. A couple of things have stood out for me this year as an Offaly GAA fan. The U20 hurlers.. just wow!! Every so often a group comes along whether it be football or hurling that is just exceptional. This is that group now. Talented, skillful, honest and a...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Watched the game back just now and isn’t it great to have won fair and square. No controversies, no red card that should’ve been, no goal not given etc etc We started decent hitting the first two points then Tipp hit 1-3 of the next 1-4 and we looked in a bit of trouble but in the ten minutes before...

Exactly, one of the subs could get “injured” in the warm up and voila…faithfulfanatic wrote: ↑Fri May 31, 2024 9:51 pm At senior level, teams now name their panel of 26 by the specified time and are allowed to have 3 lads on ‘standby’.
I’d imagine u20 is the same.

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Team named. Leigh Kavanagh back in for his brother Alex. I’d expect Diggy Hand to start if fit, for Kavanagh or Egan. I wouldn’t normally be one to read into these things, but the movement of Ravenhill from last on the extended panel list to first could be significant, given the rumours that Leo O’...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Saw that about the petition to get the game changed and agree its embarrassing. The players like the venue and will be happy with a packed Nowlan Park, there will be at least 20k offaly supporters there now I would assume, some tipp will have purchased on Ticketmaster and others through the allocat...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
This Bandwagon garbage has to stop...if you are bringing your child of 6 years of age who has started hurling for your local club is that deemed as bandwagon? These are the peoole who are large volume of supporters of this group. Them young kids have to be brought and hopefully some day will be fut...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Being reported that Offaly clubs can apply for up to 30 tickets each as Tipp didn’t sell their full allocation.
Afaik there are 61 clubs in Offaly so that would mean there are 1,800+ tickets still available and Tipp only sold 3,200.
On that basis the ratio on Saturday should be 23,000:4,000

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Hoping as much of you as possible get sorted for tickets; hopefully some Offaly fans can sneakily get their hands on tickets in the Roscrea, Knockshegowna, Lorrha and Moneygall areas. Is there many of this current group of u20s still underage for next year? 11 of their best 15 and a massive chunk o...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Full explainer here from Colm Cummins. Offaly buying up tickets for sponsors and stewards accounts for some of the “missing” tickets. Personally I’d be skeptical of people “overbuying”, I think they just completely underestimated demand. https://www.midlands103.com/news/sports/offaly-gaa-believe-mor...

Looks like TM sold 22k.Doon Exile wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2024 7:42 am A bit of communication would help. If Tipp clubs got 5k and supposedly TM only sold 14k then where is the other 7k tickets. Or did TM sell 22k?

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
It’s difficult to try and second guess the intentions of another counties supporters, but let’s take a look at some of the facts and try to reassure ourselves a little regarding the figures of Offaly v Tipperary fans. On Wednesday last I again witnessed the entire county of Offaly, well close on 20...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
There won't be 13500 tipp fans, I'd say closer to 7-8 k at least. Maybe more. Also I'd imagine there be 1500 tickets sold to neutrals etc. Alot of interest in this game . The must win game in the senior? The dogs on the street knew cork were going to beat Tipperary. This is different. Tipperary are...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
The net effect of not seeking an allocation means the proportion of Offaly to Tipp fans will likely be around 20,000:7,000 in a worst case scenario. What's your rationale for the 20,000:7,000 ratio even though Tipp clubs have about 5k alone? Massive fuck up by County Board here, more than likely 50...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
There be a lot more than 5k from Tipperary in attendance. I'd be in agreement with you. This is their last big hurling day of the year. A bank holiday Saturday evening and just a stones throw away for many, there will be plenty from Tipp there. The chance to walk out of Kilkenny of all places with ...
