Of course they had an intercounty player a couple of years back who choose to leave and seek glory with Edenderry and Clonmore Harps would have had two intercounty players had they not sought glory with Rhode as well (remember all that??).........when guys do that it has a really negative impact ...

I have decided to vote with my feet also... I will no longer attend an Offaly football match unless it's held in Rhode. It is the heartland of football in the county and I don't see why games are held in Tullamore to accommodate people from South Offaly....

Is it not the case that the four guaranteed matches are the three group games (against the other three teams in the same grpup) followed by the semi-final, quarter-final or relegation final as appropriate?

County board are dead right. Keep the numbers as high as you can for as long as you can. Have B grade competitions for smaller / weaker clubs like most counties! Result is the adult clubs benefit down the line and we have a stronger playing base.

Who refereed it? Ger Keyes was fixed to be the referee but Joe Troy on commentary for Radio 3 kept referring to Fintan Pierce as the referee.

Dreadful game. Had Rhode won by double scores there could be no complaints. Ferbane had no attacking threat whatsoever and looked extremely poor.

Shannonbridge appeared in the 1996 final. Shamrocks appeared in the 2000, 2005 & 2007 final. Gracefield 2002 & 2004.
