Re: Intermediate hurling 2019

First round of what championship? Offaly Senior B winners play in Leinster Intermediate Championship. Offaly Intermediate winners play in Leinster Junior championship. However I think, and I could be mistaken on this, that if Seir Kieran win the Intermediate final they won’t be permitted to enter th...

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

The stand in Birr isn't fit for a county final? Ah come on. First it was the grassy banks and now that they have been replaced its the stand now? If Pairc Tailteann can host county finals then Birr definitely can. And also it was interesting to note all the people stand on a grassy bank at the Antri...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

Since St Rynaghs made their first final in 1964 they have competed in 36 county final matches with a record of: P36 W17 D3 L16 In the same time period Birr have played in 22 county final matches with a record of: P22 W13 D1 L8 A really interesting statistic is that in the 55 championships since 1963...

Re: Senior A Football 2019

Rhode to do what they have never done before (I think!!) and win 4 in a row.

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

This 'bring the hurling back to birr' idea is old news and a waste of energy. BNM O'Connor Park is the county ground, and the HQ for Offaly GAA. Move on FFS. Totally disagree with this post. It's high time the county final was brought back to Birr. And also 54% people in a poll currently being run ...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

Jayz , I'm torn on this one, I don't want to get caught up the SBP v OCP stuff now, as is irrelevant at this point with the match going ahead in OCP. But there were some epic battles in Birr with these 2! Hopefully there is a big crowd for the final in Tullamore, Birr wouldn't have a big following,...

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

That was a really really enjoyable game in Birr yesterday despite the heavy conditions. Really given the rain that had fallen it would have made sense to have moved the Clara v St Rynaghs Intermediate game to a different venue near Birr and bring the time forward half an hour to facilitate the peopl...

Re: Under 13 Final.

Kilcormac / Killoughey keep churning out amazing underage teams. Huge pick obviously helps (Is it 5 primary schools?) but still.

Re: Senior A Hurling 2019

I would have had Rynaghs the slightest of slight favourites before the I read about the issues they are going to have in their defence. Resultantly I would give Ferbane/Belmont the nod while from watching Birr in the quarter finals I just can't see enough firepower in their full forward line to beat...

Re: Senior A Football 2019

To say Clara lost their heads for a 10-15 minute spell in the first half would be an understatement.2 reds, 4 yellows and Brian Darby and Niall mc going off with head injuries. They completely lost it and game was over at that stage after conceding 2 goals within 7 minutes. Rhode played with Clara ...

Re: Meeting In Tullamore

Well unfortunately for you I have organised a meeting of a “deity powered group” next week and we would like to meet the county board, the high powered group and your extremely higher powered group.

he main thing on their agenda I'm told is getting county hurling and county finals moved to the Birr club ground.
That's good enough for me anyways.
