Re: Leinster SFC and SHC Draws 2017

Found Robin team in quarter final and a win there would see us play Dublin or Galway in semi final. Tough draw to get to
Leinster Final. The Quarter-Final will be away too, providing its not Kerry.

Re: Leinster SFC and SHC Draws 2017

Getting Dublin, Galway or Wexford in the hurling draw (as opposed to a round robin team) would guarantee avoiding the round robin in 2018. I'd be happy with that. The round robin fecks up club fixtures Fair point regarding the 2018 round robin. Regarding the club championship in 2017 I saw an email...

Leinster SFC and SHC Draws 2017

Who would we like in the draw folks? Considering we cant get any of the Leinster Semi-Finalists from 2016 in the football draw Id like a crack at Laois. Anyone but Longford would be nice anyways. As for the hurling, a q-final vs the round robin runner up would be nice and a semi-final vs Wexford wou...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016

LS, Why would a figure of 5k+ be needed at next year's semi-finals in SBP to justify their return to Birr? This years semi-finals drew just over 3,500 people to OCP so surely a figure of 4,000 or above is enough to bring the semi-finals back to Birr. And remember you have 3 of the biggest supporter ...

Re: Hurling Team of Year 2016 & County Panel Prospects

Excellent thread.

If you are going to pick Brian Coughlan on your team you might aswell pick him at wing back because to the best of my recollection he didn't play one championship minute at corner back for Kinnitty. I would have Oisin Kelly, Emmet Nolan and Colm Coughlan as three of my forwards.

Has any reason been given by the county board for fixing the games in OCP?

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016

7 adult games fixed for OCP before county hurling semi-finals. If a bad turn in the weather comes that pitch will be in some shape for the semi-finals. God only knows what it will be like for the final which will be played on October 23rd!!!

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016

I'm still not of the opinion that OCP should be guaranteed the county hurling final. If the attendance of SBP can be brought to 6,600 then it should be adequate. And as for making it all-ticket, that shouldn't be an issue. Every game in OCP is all ticket in that you have to go to the ticket window a...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016

I have just seen that the Tipperary Senior Hurling Final is fixed for October 16th. Tipperary has 32 senior hurling teams, has the most convuleted championship structure you could imagine and won the senior and minor hurling All Irelands this year, yet can still manage to have their hurling final pl...

That post lost all credibility the second you mentioned taking James Dempsey out of the goals.

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016

[quote="joe bloggs"]OCP will look like the ploughing site by the time the senior hurling final gets to be played there if this rain keeps up. Look at the amount of games that will go in there between now and October 22. Simple way to lessen the burden on OCP would be to play senior hurling...

Re: Offaly Club Hurling C'ship 2016

Just saw the revised Master Fixture List for the rest of the year. The Senior Hurling Final will be held on Sunday October 23rd. Just what all the hurlers who passed May, June and most of July without hurling want. To be hurling the county final in the muck and shite. Someday the county board and th...
