Re: Leinster Club Championship
Well done to Lusmagh, great occasion for the club to have home game like this and a big win will be a great lift for the younger players in the club. Best of luck to Lusmagh in the final. Glenmore have tumbled down the rankings too, have they won a Senior Leinster title in the past? I think they wer...

Re: Dubs in Kilkenny for Football?
I can't say that Laois are making a song and dance about it, I think they are right to question it. Its the fact that the Dubs are leaving town for the first time in years, seems a shame that they aren't going to a football venue. I have no real issue with Dublin playing in Croke park in general as ...

Re: Dubs in Kilkenny for Football?
Correct, we played there in 2002. 13 years ago, and I cant remember a Leinster football championship match being held there since. Yet they get the plum tie for the Dubs, and in the end the Dubs are happy enough to travel & standing is not an issue with many of their supporters.. Just think it w...

Dubs in Kilkenny for Football?
I have to say that in the history of the GAA, has there been a more shocking decision than this? Firstly venue, Nowlan park is a shithole! Toilets, shop, seating in the stand that covered the length of the field all of poor quality. Secondly, Travel, grand, train from Dublin, but hard to get out of....

Re: Club Championships 2016
Ah Jayz, And people call the county board backwards? Is there any of the hurling fraternity that were at the meeting that can explain why they rejected the new proposals and had they been thoroughly discussed at club level in advance? The football proposals are following a similar timeframe to the s...

Re: 2016 Championship
Greenairfield....what a child!! But back to the topic at hand......2016 championship....oh sorry, am on the SBP v OCP debate topic?? Look, I am all for championship being played in OCP in general, but worth looking at playing a couple of round robin games in Birr. Personally I don't think Sharp Eyes...

Re: Leinster Club Championship
I would think that our issue is the levels of physicality that we bring to the game as a county. However KK were the exception to that rule in 2012 without a doubt, especially against Oulart in the Leinster final, I remember it being something that was noticeable on the day. I would think that acros...

Re: Offaly GAA Centre of Excellence
Great to see Shane Lowry getting involved behind the scenes in helping to get the fundraising going for the county board. Not sure if its just for the training fields or whether its a push to get more finance in to help pay down the OCP debt. I thought Offaly CB had only to provide €250k, Lowry was ...

Intermediate Final
Well done to Cappincur on their fantastic win last Saturday. Given the trauma that the whole parish went through over recent weeks, the last 2 weeks have been a small lift to the Cappincur area. For the panel and especially the younger lads who won the back to back u21 titles with Adam Mangan, this ...

Re: Senior B Football Championship
Left this at half time, and could not believe how Durrow hadn't this in the bag! Durrow were dominant throughout and butchered a few goalscoring chances. Whilst up the other end Ballycumber were depending on their No12 (Fergal ???) along with the veteran and minor (Quinn & Lowry) inside to keep ...

Re: Offaly Hurling Championships 2015
Well done to Coolderry today on their win. They got off to a flyer and kept a strong grip on the game until early in the second half. But Rynaghs really turned the screw and it was a fantastic goal by young Conneely. However Coolderry fought back well and Rynaghs were left devastated with Brady's la...

Re: 2015 SFC Final - Edenderry vs. Rhode 11/10/15
Well done to Edenderry on their victory yesterday. On the balance they just about deserved it. Couple of bad misses by Rhode in the first half by Niall and Niall Darby proved costly prior to Derek Kelly's stunning goal. Another 2 bad wides by Niall and Anton close to the finish left them wondering w...

Re: 2015 SFC Final - Edenderry vs. Rhode 11/10/15
Edenderry hammered high ball after high ball in during the county final last year, hardly stick to the same plan this year? I hope to God its better that last year as that was one of the worst games of football I ever watched. Edenderry winning would be a novelty to a degree and they have a few play...

Re: Adam Mangan RIP
Devastating for the whole area, but to his proud parents my thoughts go first and foremost. He was indeed a son to be proud of and a very decent friendly lad who had everything going for him both on and off the field. I know this will be hard for his brothers and nephews also during this time, but t...
