Re: National Hurling League 2017

Can somebody have a go at listing a current 'best Offaly 15' (including only players who are currently playing club or college hurling to a fitness standard approaching that which would be required at the top level and in their correct/best positions)? The reason I ask is so that those of us - like ...

Re: Walsh Cup

Thanks Jimbob – that makes sense. It applies to any sport and any bunch of players but I had a vision on Longwell speaking to the squad and the invariable “whaddafukdoesthatladknow” sentiment simmering around the room. Sam888885 – I never said that tradition was a negative – an irrelevance. You’d pr...

Re: Walsh Cup

I see Gary Longwell former Ulster professional rugby player is retained as a High Performance coach. He’s the Performance skills coach at the Sports Institute of Northern Ireland who presumably Ryan came in contact with during his time with Antrim. Intriguing to think that Longwell would be involved...

Re: Offaly v Dublin Leinster under21 final, Weds 6th July

Well done to the players and management tonight for turning up with a winning attitude. It was great to feel a bit of positivity in the ground at half time. There were periods in the game when our lads really got stuck in and hurled for one another which is something we haven't seen for a while in a...

but he has completely failed to bring offaly hurling people with him And the difference to this (if as you so allege to be the case is true) to all previous managers going back to Pat Fluery is what exactly? At what point do the sacred 'Offaly hurling people' come under the microscope for their own...

Re: Offaly v Westmeath, Mullingar, Sunday 1st May

I believe it is down to the type of hurling being coached at underage level POTH, but I wouldn't advocate what Forde is coaching Rynagh's although he is a good coach. His type of game has been counter acted in the past by KK under Owens and Coolderry under Kelly. I think both K/K AND C/D have bette...

Re: Offaly v Westmeath, Mullingar, Sunday 1st May

Probably worth asking what the horde of hero’s would propose Kelly, Gleeson, Sheedy (or for that matter … the Rattler Byrne, Louise Morrissey, Shane Long, Dan Breen, Michael Lowry of Effin Eddie Maroney) … do to address each of the following issues (outside of the required drastic and surgical recti...

"uncorking the outrage" ... brilliant ..... exactly what happens with the heros here at every 'new' low that is reached. Are people so simple that they think Liam Sheedy can somehow restore OY to AI contenders over his 1 or 2 year tenure and ultimately be a threat to Tipp? Really could people possib...

Two green flags from sub Podge Mulhare ... is there anything that man cannot do?! Out of interest POTH can you tell me what did make the cut for the programme in its place (assuming some other feature did and the content is restricted by sponsor, teams and player profiles etc). Seems to me that the ...

Re: Allianz Hurling League Roinn 1B 2016

Really like the direct style of your match reports Toxicity. Some mightn't like the flowery language but it conveys your obvious passion for the game and county. I for one felt that at times you can be overly optimistic about the standard of hurlers available to the management (based on what I see a...
