Re: Offaly hurling manager??
Bit off topic, have we many lads hurling colleges hurling this year? Great to see my own club man Eoghan Kelly Edenderry win a division two league final with the Garda College , Paudie Maher centre back on the team. From chatting with a few boys I think there is 4 or 5 lads from Offaly going to be ...

Re: clubs that play outside their county
Clonmore (Offaly) & Ballinabrackey (Meath) is another unique one. Clonmore won a senior in Offaly in early 1900's but disbanded after. They played their adult football with Ballinabrackey for most periods until they reformed in the late 80's/early 90's. In the last few years the row has become b...

Re: Offaly County Board Thread
Outsider the thread is about the county board and I missing something here...I am still hurling when I finish ill get involved That doesn't stop you from bringing any points or grievances with the county board to your Club CB Rep and let them air it at the monthly meeting? And thats not a dig at yo...

Re: Offaly County Board Thread
Can we all forget about attacking the CB for now and concentrate on supporting Offaly! We know what they have done, thats not gonna change now. If you want change soo badly, go to your clubs AGM, ask to be a county board rep and then vote out the current CB. No point commenting on a forum about them...

Re: Offaly County Board Thread
I know they are a joke, but the only way to stop the rot is by (as said here by another poster), go to your county board club rep and tell him/her you would like to be a county board delegate and then put your views across. Even better, get them to air out any grievances you have for time being. Onl...

Re: Offaly County Board Thread
A good week covering the cracks is all...open your eyes. I wouldn't have the time I am busy enough. Well if you stopped complaining on here about everything you'd have plenty of time!! Yourself and townman should go for positions in the County Board - it would be good to see the "brilliant&quo...

Re: Man in Offaly jersey
Great article about Mick. Great to see him get the recognition he deserves. Especially in these poor years for both the hurlers and footballs Mick's loyalty is still as strong to the faithful cause Anyone know about crowd funding? Wouldn't it be a great way to try and finance his trip to New York h...

Re: Leinster MHC 2016
I don't think they are in place to be honest results are still poor at underage by all accounts. Nobody will go up against them as there is so many to get rid of I don't know where do u start. If they all stood down im sure we would get a decent set up going. Why do people give this man air time? H...

Re: 2016 Offaly Club Draws
Yes, T, only it doesn't have to be the 'nearest' hurling club. The 2014 by-law read as follows (and I'm not aware of it having being changed in the meantime) - "Where there is no adult football team in a Parish, a player from a hurling Club, in that Parish, may play with a football team, and v...

Re: In support of Offaly hurlers and footballers
Agree with you hear Plain. Footballers have come a long way from a few years ago. Since Pat took over they are starting to grind out results. Nearly promoted to Division 2 only for scoring difference. Give these boys time - a Leinster final is not out of the question this year if they put the head d...

Re: 2016 Offaly Club Draws
Thanks for that Plain - I had a feeling they never looked for permission from other clubs. Does that mean next year any of those players can look for permission off their nearest hurling club to play? Kingscounty hit the nail on the head. When the club turned down a hurling sub committee, that was t...

Re: 2016 Offaly Club Draws
Does that mean then that anyone who wants to play hurling and is from Edenderry, Ballyfore, Daingean, Rhode, Clonmore, Croghan cant play Hurling in 2016? Not even with another club?

Re: 2016 Offaly Club Draws
The Edenderry situation is a disgrace. 7 Clubs were represented on the Edenderry in the past and your telling me that you cant find 3 players from each club? Edenderry itself should be able to field a team but unfortuantely Football is the dominant sport there. Why cant all the 7 clubs along with Gr...
