Offaly Hurling Best 15 - 2010-2020

If only we could have had them all hurling at onc...

Why do we not have a senior hurling manager appointed?

I personally think it's a joke that we do not have a senior hurling manager appointed, we are at the semi final stage in club senior championship! u21 county final played? Should the county board have not appointed the manager early get speculation out of the way and let them get on with their work ...

New Offaly Management/Panel Members for 2017

Anyone one know who is rumoured to be the next Offaly Senior Hurling manager? Or who should be the next manager? Should there be new faces added to the panel? Relatively successful u21 team surely some are ready for the step up. We have had some of our good hurlers refusing to be involved in panels ...

New Minor & Senior Hurling Management

As we all know Joe Errity and Brian Whelehan have stepped down from their roles as minor and senior manager respectively. Personally I think a whole review has to be done on all coaching panels from underage to senior level. Structures need to be put in place that players can come through the whole ...

Offaly Hurling where do we go from here?

well this year we lost to Laois and Clare and haven't won a championship match. Performances have been way below what is expected.....Management? Senior and Underage? Who should be on the panel and who should leave? What will it take to get Offaly hurling back to its glory days?

Re: Offaly vs Clare - 2015 Senior Hurling Qualifier R1

I feel the need to reiterate the point that was mentioned earlier that Brian Whelehan owes absolutely nothing to Offaly hurling. As an Offaly man Brian is regarded as one of the best in the history of the game. Brian has 4 all stars, 2 hurler of the year awards and was on the team of the milllenium ...

Offaly G.A.A Under Age Development

I just read an article in the Midlands tribune this week, which I would advise everybody to take a look at. Brian Lowry wrote an article "Signs of progress as development squads come under the spotlight" and "Offaly GAA seal deal with Athlone Institute of Technology". Me for one ...

Re: Offaly Hurling the real problem

We are talking about the core problem which is the development at underage level. You can sit and moan about Brian Whelehan all day everyday, but realistically if there was a good development system Brian should have 15 to pick from every senior club team!! And players should have respect for the ma...

Re: Offaly Hurling the real problem

Thanks townman, I agree with what that man was saying people started to believe that talent was just coming naturally and that success would be continuous. But reality has hit now . The only way we will win anything in years to come is by development at underage, yes putting S&C coaches with the...

Offaly Hurling the real problem

A lot of people are putting the blame on Brian Whelahan and other previous managers, which I think is completely ridiculous. The real problem is at underage level our minors and u 21s!! We even need to go further down to nearly u10's. The structures and systems used over the last decade or 2 are mil...
