Re: Offaly GAA - in Crisis

This blame game HAS TO BE STOPPED Blame has to be shared by EVERYONE here: 1.The County Board Officers; 2. The Delegates to County Board meetings; 3. The clubs of County Offaly who ELECTED the current chairman by a good majority vote last December, (including many of the south Offaly clubs!); 4. The...

Re: Leinster Club Championship

I went to support our county champions today and can tell you that it wouldn't have mattered where the match was played, Coolderry were out- hurled all over the field by a hard working Cuala team who thoroughly deserved their win. Coolderry represented us well in previous years but Cuala hurled bett...

Re: Offaly vs Clare - 2015 Senior Hurling Qualifier R1

Was in Ennis on Saturday night ( always travel anywhere and anytime our hurlers play) and it was a sad occasion. We were outrun and outclassed all over the field and it was very sad to watch. Once again our goalkeeper James Dempsey was OUTSTANDING and without him the score line would have read 6 goa...

Re: County Board 2015

These posts are hilarious! Anyone can put there name forward for convention. Where were all the ex players names at convention time? Easy to say co board weren't interested but it is not up to them. Those past players should start representing their clubs at county board meetings during the year and...

Very true tox, he is my Dad and I am very proud of him. Andy wasa great hurler and administrator . Started with Offaly in 1953 and finished today. The only Offalyman to manage an Offaly senior hurling team to All Ireland. A lifetime of service. End of an era.

Re: National Hurling League 2015

Sharp eye,
All county players have free gym membership already. They are already looked after properly on all fronts. They do have their medical bills paid promptly providing they hand in the correct paperwork. So am not sure what you are getting at in your post.

Re: Offaly GAA Media Access

Offalys Future, Why are you so scathing about the hurling review? And what is wrong with having Diarmuid Healy there? He managed Offaly to win the All-Ireland in 1984 so give due respect please. At least we were winning then. I was at the open meeting in Birr. What he said is very relevant to today ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football Management 2015

Jimbob, why are you so keen to believe what was said by Niall Mc Named? Just because that is his opinion doesn't mean it is a true representation of what actually happens! Maybe Pat Flanagan is exactly what we need herein Offaly. That the manager is the boss, not the players! Worth a shot anyway!!! W...

Re: football championship 2014

Was at the match. The ambulance staff took some abuse from the Clonbullogue manager and his language was appaling to them. They have a job to do and are qualified to do it. They should be let do it. No manager that I know of in Offaly is a qualified paramedic. The manager had no business being in th...

Re: Offaly GAA is in Some State

I was at the meeting last night and am wondering how everyone has missed the point both men were making regarding the ground hurling. They were NOT saying to solely return to it. The point is that if you start with and perfect the ground hurling skill, ALL OTHER SKILLS will flow from that as it deve...

Re: Clara v Durrow Junior B football S/F shambles

Wasn't at the match yesterday, but Clara had no business bringing their protest to the junior football match quarter-final in O Connor Park today. Ballycommon were out on the pitch for the 1pm start, but Clara did not appear until 1.17pm, as they were making a protest over yesterday's result. Very b...
