Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

we win our 2 games and we go in to preliminary all Ireland quarter final against one of the Joe McDonagh teams. A win there would set up us then for an Ireland final on the back of a 3 game winning streak.

Far better I think than a potential heavy ish defeat to galway in Leinster final ...

Re: Offaly Hurling 2026

remember we lose to wexford and it a joe mcdonagh trap door game against kildare in newbridge. it could all go wrong. equally we might be in the leinster final. biggest game in 20 years.

The chances of us qualifying for a Leinster Final are remote.

Among many things we need to happen ...

Fully agree. And a great motivational game for us too.

Re: U20 hurling 2026

Just to be clear, I’m not advocating for dual players at county level. The point I’m making is essentially in response to whenever we have a poor result, the inevitable response is what’s going wrong with Offaly and everyone from county board to team management get the blame.

But the reality is ...

Re: U20 hurling 2026

Think Joe Furey only joined the football panel after the hurlers were out of the championship

Similar to Marcus dalton - think he joined the u20 hurlers a couple of years ago after the footballers went out.

A couple of the minor hurlers joined the football squad last year after the hurlers went ...

Re: U20 hurling 2026

Just a few points on this one and coming from a place of being heavily involved in both hurling and football from go games over the past few years up to currently u14. Also have a peripheral involvement with the Faithful Academy set up.

I’m also equally passionate about hurling and football with ...

Re: U20 hurling

That was tough ,

I know expectations weren't that we were going to put on a show v Dublin

Nothing went right , passing , control , rising the ball

Very tough for a young team to be beat by that amount at times they looked like they would kick on but dublins puck out killed us and then the ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026

I listened to Paul Rouse talk about this on the Irish Examiner football Podcast. He said that there was apathy in Offaly towards the football team because the best players in the county were not on the panel. I think he is fairly on the money with that

Paddy Duncan, John Furlong, Cathal Flynn ...

Re: U20 hurling

Well done to all involved. Plenty of things to work on....but getting a win like that is great for morale to kick the year off. Great building block. Hopefully they can progress with this.

4 point win over meath

Are Offaly particularly weak or is this a good meath team?

U20 hurling 2026

Pulled it out of the fire yesterday. Was sure we were gone mid way through second half. That said they probably had slightly the better hurlers.
Some strong individual performances and hopefully they might push on now.

Away to Meath Thursday night and then home to Dublin in the last game. Exactly ...

Re: Offaly Senior Football 2026

Hugely disappointed to lose a game that we would have been full value for the win had we held on. Ultimately it was the last ten minutes before half time that cost us the game. We were 5 points up and had we pushed on we could have had a 7-8 point half time cushion.

I think everyone thought we ...
