Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
It's also possible that Ticketmaster didn't sell all of their allocated tickets. During surges, when users are getting kicked out and payments are failing, what can happen is that these tickets don't return to the available queue immediately. Some credit card payments only clear or get declined afte...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
I bet lots of people grabbed more tickets than they need and spares will be floating about.
People will also drop out once the logistics of a Saturday evening in Kilkenny get too difficult.
Hang in there.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
Tickets for Joe Mac/Leinster final on sale now. Only a few sections open for sale at the moment, the usual Ticketmaster playbook. I'd give it until the weekend to see. Even with the Leinster final on, they should be any amount of options of seats/sections "Low available" 82,000 capacity 🤣...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
I suspect Offaly turned down a separate allocation for two reasons. 1 - They thought that TM would meet the demand. The match being at 7:15pm in theory should have dampened the attendance. 2 - It's 24 years since Offaly clubs had to ration an allocation of tickets. There is no longer muscle memory a...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Any hint that Offaly have a separate allocation for the clubs? Right now it doesn't seem like it, If Tipperary have gotten a separate 5,000 boxed off for themselves and Offaly haven't - relying solely on the open sale, then Tipp have pulled a masterstroke. At the very worst for Tipp, if they don't s...

Remembering Eoin Downey preventing an Offaly goal last year with a rugby tackle.
"Yerra, Cark were rooootless boy!"
I hope they applauded this one so.

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
I've normally no beef with Cork but I chuckled at Ben O'Connor's sour head at the end of that match.
Delicious irony that his lads were undone by umpires with eyesight problems...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Cork hurling is on a real roll at the moment. How long it lasts is another matter.
On the other hand Tipp are in bother. After an 18 point senior defeat to Cork and the 2 Johnnies getting the chop from 2FM, the U20s will want to give the county a lift.

Have a look at this. Another great video by Mark Forde.
We need more counties doing this kind of promotion and GAA HQ to roll out some sort of social media strategy.

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
From Laois' perspective, it's not different at all. No team would or should spend their time worrying about others, and last year Offaly had to fulfil a fixture against Carlow, this year Laois have to fulfil a fixture against Westmeath. Offaly weren't "choosing" to play Carlow in the fina...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Superb win last night, well done to all. Laois GAA should be embarrassed. 1. Very few stewards on duty. Almost more guards than stewards. I heard one steward loudly tell another on the way in to make sure as many could hear that he'd 'much rather be in the fu***ng bog'. 2. No national anthem played...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Delighted with the team. It was a far from perfect Offaly display and that's why this team is special. They always find a way. A slow start from Offaly and maybe the big crowd added to the pressure. Like last week, Rigney's goal was worth more than 3 points. Then it was Dublin taking heavy touches a...

Re: Offaly Senior Hurlers 2024
   The same principle does not apply at all here. Your level of critical thinking does appear to be quite low. The last round last yr decided who would play Offaly in the final. Offaly were entitled to do what they liked and they chose to play a B team and let Carlow qualify. This...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
Well done Glen! Counting down the hours now. The challenge tonight is another big one. Dublin will be very different to Kilkenny in how they play. The Cats were conventional, man to man, deliver with the stick. Dublin can unleash a powerful running game, flooding certain areas with bodies to overrun...

Re: Offaly Under 20s hurling 2024
A big Offaly turnout will be a help. Against Kilkenny the home crowd was a help when some off the ball activities were being initiated by Kilkenny.
Watch out for Dublin lunatics on the sideline encouraging them too. They've a couple of pound shop Davy Fitzs who can get very wound up.
