Re: Tyrone
I'm all in favour of the two man inside line as long as the lads end up being given the space in which to operate. This requires early ball played in accurately - i.e. Quinn. Putting Mark Daly in for Quinn makes no sense, as Dayler just doesn't deliver the same quality of ball - no one in the count...

It was Damien Geoghegan who got sent off in the 1989 U21 final. I wouldn't risk Sid at full back. It's a position where every ball has to be contested (and won), sometimes with brute force. This suits hatchet men and mullockers like the Rock, Darragh Ryan, Philip Maher, Noel Hickey etc. Sid's game h...

Re: Offaly team
I think the usual rules don't really apply when it comes to goalkeepers, seeing as more than anywhere else on the pitch, confidence is vital. I'd prefer for McNamara to have felt secure in his position than to give Padraig Kelly - a keeper we already know all about, both the good and the bad - anot...

Lest you might think it's a D'Unbelievables sketch, it's actually taken from a match between Freshford and Tullaroan.

Offaly team vs Tyrone
McNamara, Keane and Kenny out. Kelly, Daly and Joe Quinn in. This mightn't necessarily be an indication that McNamara and Keane are out of favour. I think Kelly should get a couple of matches, regardless of whether he'll be first choice. Not sure about Cathal Daly at centre back. It didn't work last...

Re: g
I can see from the last day why MFF was impressed with Sean Ryan - he mightn't have scored much (0-1, and that at the death) but a lot of Jimmy's frees came from Sean winning ball and running at lads and getting fouled. In Clara we're well aware how a stylish player with a good haircut will get con...

Have we another Frank Weir on our hands?Lone Shark wrote:It's certainly a possibility. If he has the drive and motivation to push himself then he certainly has the talent.
